where can i find a decent body shop with good prices?, need some bondo work and a dark silver paint job.

car runs great it's pretty quick my friend and i were playing around he has a 04 350z i pulled on him the 2 x's we played.

and fire comes out the exhaust too lol.

drove it back on the highway for 2 hours, checked the oil before and after, didnt see a difference.

im changed the oil tomorrow 15w50 mobil 1 full synthetic.

yeah he said use that, and it runs fine didnt have any probs on the 2 hour drive so i guess ill use what he said, he's owned 6 240's over the years and turbo'd them all and hasnt had a problem yet so i dont see why i should challenge it.

turbo's generally run thinner oils (probably to better lubricate the small turbo bits)

but if 15w50 works then... OK haha

winter's coming up so that oil will be extra thick on startup etc etc
Nice work playing with the Z. What turbo/boost?

I asked my friend about that engine and he didnt know anything other than that it had 123k miles when he sold it

I can recommend a guy to you for a paint job. He does a VERY nice job, but you're gonna need about $1500 bucks, but he'll do work that's worth twice that. It's not a budget maaco job--he focuses heavily on prep work.

Anyway, if you're shooting flames you're way out of tune man. You should get that bitch on the dyno. What engine management system are you using?

the management is a safc, he has it running a bitch rich and it's a 2.5 inch straight pipe. the management and turbo etc is:

that's the original message that he sent me

should i go a lil thinner on the oil, i can start up the car and wait 1 or 2 minutes for the parts to get lubed up b4 driving off will that be ok?

would you consider a 92 nissans 240sx its turbocharged, it has a 63 trim T3/t4, 370cc injectors, walboro fuel pump, afc2 xspower intercooler,2.5 inch striaght exshaut 19 inch adr wheels, centerforce dualfricton clutch, eibacih sportline springs, short shifter, autometer gauges the back half of the car is striped, hks blowoff valve, thats the good stuff the bad is that it has a dent on the passanger side quarter panel and the front bumper, got a little bit hacked up when my brother cut the whole for the intercooler. i can get a replacement for $30 dollars. and i just had the car complression tested it was 175 across the board. pm if your interested.

yes I'll pay 1500 for a nice paint job if that includes the bondo'n work let me know.
i still need to pickup the front bumper but other than that im ready to drop the car off from paint.

i think i want to paint the car dark silver.

the car is tuned for 7psi of boost and is currently only running 5, he said it wanted it to be reliable sincei it's on stock internals, so im saved up for the paint right now and ill save up for a engine build up this summer.

thanks guys!

if it is a fastback you should order the s15 front panels for it... those are my favorite 240s if they're clean and setup that way.

i dont have that much cash to go modifying body panels, just for some decent bodywork and a paint job.

unless i wait and drive around the flat black spray painted car some more

some picts are in my gallery. thanks i like the fastback a lot too. the exterior is crap, im going to have to invest about 2k to get it looking good with the new paint. i hope to pickup a new front bumper (30 dollars) this weekend and it will probably be in the body shop for the next 2 weeks

yeah im going to tell you guys, i really dont know much about it, but if it was tuned for 7psi and it's running 5 it's obviously going to run a little rich. i would rather it run rich with the occasional backfire, while letting off the gas at 1500 rpms than it lean out and blow up.

it's perfectly normal on a setup that vents to the atmosphere. it's a result of a rich spike when you let off the gas. when you let off the gas, the air released has already been accounted for by the computer by going through the air meter. the computer has given fuel in relation to that air, so when it vents you get a momentary very rich condition causing the flame.

^^ & ^ Yep. And I definately see a MAF sensor sitting there. I'd imagine that he's running a bit rich too, and that probably helps the flames even more.

I know that BOV's can cause a rich condition, but not every car runs a MAF... I guess I was thinking that 240's go by speed density or something.

mobil oils tend to stay on the thin side of their weight. my 30 weight acts more like a 20-25.

i havent noticed any oil burning in the 500 miles i've driven it, as far as the oil level has stayed the same on the dipstick from the first time i got it since i checked it 3x's since i've been driving it, including tonight so i think ill stay with the mobil 1 if this guys swears by it.

where can i get a wix oil filter?

thanks

KA internals are good to over 300whp with good tuning

you can play it relatively safe around 275whp. you dont have to baby those KA's; just do things the right way

one of the guys at the nissan dealership said that don't push it past 10 pounds of boost or it would blow the engine on stock internals. He said to go no more than 8 to be safe. The 240 is fun, but it has a lot of work in it. Apparently, the guy gutted the interior, there's lots of body work to be done, he needs new 19 inch tires (front ones atleast), and a new front bumper. The guy also cut a vent hole in the hood and the hood bobs around cause he cuts the supports. And there's a lot of bolts and nuts missing...

Other then that, it seems to work... But sounds like ass with that straight pipe. I thought it wouldn't be bad, but it doesn't sound like a car, more like a truck. Atleast it doesn't have a fart can on it.

btw, your hood scoop is missing a bolt, might want to invest in another bolt cause it bobs up and down, but you really don't care since the hood also bobs up and down too. lol
