What kind of paint can I use on the vinyl interior door panels of my car?

vinyl compatible paint.

I helped a friend with a similar project on his Eclipse. He used some kind of custom mixed Dupont interior vinyl paint.

Go to Carquest Paint Supply (919-876-3125 i think) on Old Wake Forest road. They will mix up exactly what you need. If you don't want this to look like shit you're going to need to do some very thorough and time consuming sanding on at least some of the door panel.

Krylon bonds beautifully to CLEAN vinyl. So do most lacquers.

You can get custom interior colors mixed at Carquest, but you do need a spray gun to shoot 'em.

You can also buy vinyl color in a spray can at most auto parts stores.

And do NOT sand it. the solvent in the paint is what bonds it.

^ I was referring to sanding the rough plastic parts of the door panel (should there be any) if he plans on painting those too.
