Is it like normal to run your hand through your hair and have several strands of hair come out or am i losing my hair. i dont really notice any large scale hair loss but i was wondering if this is normal. is there anything to do to stop this, like special conditioner or shampoo?

What does that mean? Do whatever you did the last time to get it back.

I lost some hair towards the front of my head. It is a heredity thing for me. We get a "widows peak" early then we don't lose the rest of our hair.

It is my understanding that there are no permanent solutions other than surgery. Hair transplants are like breast implants, some doctors do a very good job, and others do not.

Heavy daily "pull out" like you are experiencing are probably a strong sign that you are losing your hair. You may be able to slow it down temporarily with medicine or shampoo, maybe not. There is a huge "quack science" industry out there that is looking for your money.

My advice is to realize that this is not a huge deal. Save yourself some money and cut your hair short if you already haven't.

I don't see what the big issue is with hair loss. I like my hair a little long but if it started falling out I don't think I would care that much.

btw, that fucked belongs to you.

You lose a hundred hairs a day. If yours has gotten longer (you know, longer than the military made you keep it) it's just more apparent. Brushing it will keep you from shedding as much. Sometimes if I haven't brushed my hair in a day I notice a lot of it coming out just because it gets tangled into itself. It's the same amount, but if it doesn't come out in a brush it looks scary.

they should just have a normal haircut. shaving your head when you go bald is the equivalent of wearing a toupee

you're still trying to hide from and mask the truth.

after all, its not the toupee itself that gives it such a bad name - its the insecure attitude that prompts the person to wear it.

ive always wondered why people who are losing hair take the plunge and shave it all off? it is because they think it looks better?

ive been keeping my hair buzzed pretty short lately just because its convenient, but if I didn't have it cut that way already I doubt I would when I start losing my hair (which will happen, just a matter of when).

but i will say that having a buzzed/bald head looks a lot better than someone trying to pull off a toupee

i don't think it looks bad for someone who is bald/ing to keep their hair short, in fact it looks better than trying ot make a few hairs look like more than they are

completely disagree. i'd rather see that than a comb over.

you could be losing your hair or it could just be seasonal. some people shed more hair at certain times of the year. do you wear a hat? some people argue that wearing a hat all the time contributes to hair loss (or for a girl, wearing it back in a pony tail all the time). check with yuor doctor. there are some medicines, shampoos, etc that do work for some people. when my mom had cancer, she was given a medicated shampoo that really made a difference in how much hair she lost. my cousin used some rogaine like stuff and it actually worked for him. just depends on your personal body chemistry.

^ Don't mind matthew, he is just trolling.

Its funny for years the trolls always try to troll the bald look like its a bad thing while girls in the same thread point out there is nothing wrong with it and it looks sexy on certain guys.

It hasn't stopped me from pulling more box than just about all the bald trollers combined so I wouldn't worry about it unless you are generally insecure about your appearance.

I've been shaving my head for three years. Bitches.

I started losing my hair a while back. I used to keep it long, then buzzed it, then just tried to see how it'd look shaved. After shaving it I went into work and my co-workers said "wow, you look mean". And I thought it was so funny they'd call ME mean I decided to keep it for a while. As my friends and family saw it, they decided it "worked" for me so I just kept doing it.

Besides, I think having a shaved head not only gives off not only a certain aura of distinguishment but also an air of confidence. Similar to how some say that a beard or moustache would indicate that a salesman was trying to hide something, having a shaved head shows that I have nothing to hide. Which is true, I don't. I'll talk to anybody about anything. Bitches.

^Agreed - some girls are drawn to my head like a magnet. Unfortunately, so are a lot of gay men. Dammit.

alright fine, a comb-over does look worse than a shaved head, but shaving your head after you start going bald is still just barely a step away from a comb-over

its still an attempt to hide your baldness

come on - this isn't hard... you're not "becoming bald" by shaving your head ... in fact, you're hiding your baldness because now you're no longer bald you are one who shaves his head

It's normal to lose hundreds of hairs a day, especially if your hair is long and/or thick. At the salon I work at we suggest taking hair vitamins and the product Nioxin if you are worried. However, if it's severe and has happened before I suggest going to a doctor and getting Propecia or an anti-hair loss drug like that.

so if i'm trolling and what I'm saying isn't true, then how come guys will go their entire lives without shaving their heads and then once they start going bald they all "coincidentally" decide that shaving their heads would be a great idea....

eh. whatever. you don't have to agree with me. i'm just telling you what I believe to be true. Bald guys who shave their heads do so as a way to hide the fact that they are going bald - and probably also to avoid having to personally face that fact

It's dumb shit like this that isn't worth responding to with a serious post.

I'm dead fucking serious when I say this, reenact the Steerpike drama, only make it real this time.

more than anything, I would say that balding men shave their head in order to face the fact that they are bald/balding

no, they do it because they think it looks better

why do they think it looks better?

because it no longer looks like they are going bald

it looks like they shaved their heads

any man who shaves his head: after one day, anyone can see whether or not they are actually bald or just prefer to shave their head

if you just trim your hair neatly without shaving your head, the balding area is accentuated. Restated, when you shave your head, the bald spot is de-emphasized.

Lets get some things straight.

Toupees - disgusting
Combover - disgusting
Shaved Head - tolerable

But those are all still attempts to cope with the loss of hair. i'm honestly pretty surprised that my statement has caused such a stir and i would offer that the truth behind my words is proportional to the level of outrage it has caused.

.... they always get upset when you remove the toupee, after all.

Any hair stylist will tell you it works exactly the opposite. If you have thin hair or you're getting bold, trim your hair short. That way you'll have "hey, i have a sporty look" as opposed to "I used to be a hippy 30 years ago, I still pretened I am even though I'm old as fuck".
