I got into a car wreck a few years back and was really freaked out, and when I got home two fairly new friends of mine were there waiting for me with a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (why kraft mac & cheese? long story). Anyways, that's the best gift I've ever received. They were genuinely worried about me.

It actually makes me really sad to think about it.

best had to be my birthday this past december.

we were in the magic kingdom, eating dinner at the royal table (cinderella's castle). waiter asked my boyfriend if we wanted to see the dessert tray.

he brings out a silver platter with a dome, sets it down. takes off the lid, and there's a beautiful diamond engagement ring on a rose bud, inside a small glass slipper with rhinestones... all on a bed of rose petals. (it was engraved with "MJ & Lauren 12/16/05" on one side and "Memories Forever" on the other.)

then came the champagne and beautiful dessert with "Will you marry me?" written in chocolate around the edge of the plate. and there was a little girl a few tables over who screamed "EWWW!" when we kissed and made me laugh so hard that i couldn't drink to our own toast.

^^, ^^^ yeah... i actually cried. i was trying to eat the dessert, and shaking so bad i couldn't use my fork... and i just smiled at him and was like "i hate you..." because i never thought i would cry over something happy.

even my cousin's husband was like "damn, he out-did me."

mine's sappy in a girly sort of way.
Today I received a very unexpected gift from Hallmark. I have been really down on my luck lately so my parents sent me a shamarock (bad sp) plant and a wishpet bear with shamarocks on his feet and says luck of the irish, and some jelly bellys (mmmm).
And inside they said that they hoped this would help my luck and my happiness.
I know it's sappy, but that is probably the best present I have received in a very long time (I'm not a materialistic person so in many people's eyes I have probably recieved much better, but it's the thought that counts)

The Omega watch my parents gave me when I graduated from the Naval Academy and my officer's sword from my grandmother.

It wasn't a gift, but the most sentimental thing I have is the diamond I have in my class ring from the academy - it was in my great grandmother's engagement ring and my grandmother's wedding ring.
