So is anyone going down to Tampa for it? I'll be down in florida getting on and off my cruise ship and IF I hear that we are still playing I will head over to tampa. In fact the ship we might sign up for is out of tampa. I looked at the schedule and if the standings were to stay the way they are right now we would seriously have a good chance at doing something beside just going to it. I think we could do something...other thing is have any of you noticed where it is next year? It's in CHARLOTTE! and during time while we are in school. It is AFTER spring break. I think we will be decent next year as well. Well discuss...

Hate to say it... but UNC or Duke will win it all. Unless Sidney's Red Jacket has somethin to do with it.

Although I have never "toured" Tampa, I am from that region of Florida and I recomend it as one of the top tourists cities/beaches in the country. The people there are generally friendly and laid back, and if you all can plan to have an extra day or two, GO TO SARASOTA!

I remember being there for the tourney two years ago and going to random bars on the harbor to watch the games. The weather will be amazing this time of year, and it should be an absolutely awesome experience regardless if we win anything. Plus, the grouper/snook fishing will hit it its prime for any adventurous enough to give it a shot on the docks (businesses are starting to beef up the security measures, but there are still tons of great spots).

I whish I could be there, have fun!

^^^ The tourney was in DC two years ago...are you talking about a different tourney?

Yeah, nothing wrong with Greensboro. If you go to watch the games, particularly on Thursday and Friday, do you really have time to do anything other than watch basketball? Maybe hit up a bar or something one night, but for the most part, a bar is a bar.

No, I think that was it. The one where Bethel pulled a muscle. I was just in Florida because it was spring break and I went home.

But I would imagine that people going to Tampa for the tourney will prolly get tickets to see it live, so, lol at my post.

everywhere they pick for the tournament out of NC are horrible

DC wasn't too bad when it was up there, that was pretty nice actually

but tampa's arena is so small that'll will be tough to even get everyone who wants to get a ticket in there

oh and atlanta is horrible, when it was there in.. 1999? (that is probably way off) last time it was there anyway, it was just bad, there were seats in there were people couldn't see that well, or at all.

hopefully they'll change some of that for the final four this year

greensboro is fine..

I'll be in Tampa for the Tourney.

don't have a ticket, but hopefully either State will pull some upsets and I can get some tickets from leaving fans or I can find some that aren't TOO ridiculously expensive.

Even though I now live in FL, I say have in NC (Greensboro) just for the sake of tradition.

I agree gboro isnt much fun, but when it comes to $$ and central location, the ACC will favor gboro. The reason it is in gboro is mainly because it is cheap and the arena is big enough to handle it and it is always available cheaply because the sports teams in gboro blow. Its also the former location of ACC administration.

However, if the bottomline at charlotte, Tampa, and Atlanta is comparable, then I could see them moving away from gboro. We would have to wait a long time though....

Charlotte will rock. Bobcats arena downtown and all the bars and shit.

Can't wait.

Oh and I second the "fuck Gary Williams" sentiment. It should just return to Greensboro forever.

Wait are they holding it in the ice hockey arena that the Lightning play in or the dome that the Devil Rays play in, like the 1999 Final Four?

If they ever hold the tournament in Phillips Arena, the ACC would make a killing off of all the suites in that place. There's like a whole wall of expensive suites on one side of the arena.

I love it in Gboro, and while I can understand size complaints for the colliseum, its a great place to see basketball, very intimate

plus back in the day State would stay in the High Point Radison downtown

Well the St. Pete Times Forum isn't too small; it has a capacity of 20,500 for basketball. The Greensboro Coliseum on the other hand has a capacity of 23,500 for basketball. The Charlotte Bobcats Arena has a college basketball capacity of 20,200.

I miss the days of the old Charlotte Coliseum. That place had a basketball capacity of 24,042.

Charlotte will be fun. 2 and half hour drive from here. While we are actually here in school. Only will have to skip thursday and friday....and charlotte is wild. That weekend will be super wild. Some other schools might even be on their spring break. I love charlotte night life, especially if we are good and we have a lot of our fans there. AND in the same year the 1st and 2nd round is in raleigh...how weird if we could get in there at the region. Just some fun ideas...

It'll be really hard to make an ACC tournament run with our short-ass bench...which makes what we did during Herb's first year even that more remarkable. That has to be one of the best ACC tournament runs ever...even though we didn't even win the thing.

^ i think our short bench is an advantage in the ACC Tourney...not many teams are used to having guys play that many minutes in such a short span like ours...

Yeah, Herb's first year wasn't even in the top 3 greatest tournament runs at State. Much less the ACC.

^Ending in the greatest college basketball game ever.
