I would be really careful though. I would just stick to putting flyers up around campus except for Metcalf and Carroll(THe OCs have to take them down). They also won't let you set up a booth unless you are an official campus organization/club.

I know this stuff because I used to be an OC.

yeah you should be able to come up with a huge booth and presentation----if they won't let you inside---setup on the sidewalk somewhere

Um...I would be careful about this. I know that if you are soliciting to the incoming freshmen that Roxanna and Roger will call Public Safety. We have really strict rules about solicitation. We even have yelled at the wolfpack club before because they were handing stuff out while the kids were waiting to register.

That's insane! The purpose of NSO is to introduce incoming freshmen into the NC State Community....and, well, that's what TWW is!! I can understand keeping away solicitors like the evil credit card people or the magazine salesnazis...but things that are associated with NCSU should be allowed.

yeah I think it would be awesome for incoming freshman to have some interaction and get some advice with current students. I'm open for suggestions on how to accomplish this!

Spray painting the tunnels and putting up flyers sounds like a good idea. Might be the best way to get the word across since getting a booth seems unlikely.

Well during orientation I know I ate at the dining all so maybe put up a lot of signs there since pretty much all the new students would def. be going there. I didn't go on any of the tours and never went through the free express tunnel because I am in the COT so everything was pretty much on Centennial.

would putting flyers around would be against official policy? what about painting the tunnel? will the tunnel be nice and white for us to paint if we would paint it?

Jake, I'll be part of the team that ushers the engineering kids through the labs... last year it was illegal to have ANYTHING on the boards, but I put stupid lil signs up anyways, I notice at least 5 people checking it out back then.

ALOT of these people come through the bookstore. One of my duties is to place little Apple flyers and stuff into the bags. If you want to make some small ads, I'll try to sneak some into the bags

That would be an awesome attention-getter. You could make business-esque cards with on the front and have http://www.brentroad.com on the back.

they certainly wouldn't be able to complain about the content of chit-chat with that sort of an advertisement bringing them here.

if the orientation was signing up for classes. Wait, now that i think about it, i did have some sort of orientation, BUT i was in the MEA program and they did not think anyone was coming so they did not plan anything(about 8 people showed up), went to the MEA building, they scrabbled to get someone i could talk to which was not any good. I think i woulda gone on a tour if offered...i went on my own time and figured out where my classes were and on my first day i followed everyone cause i was way out at Avent Ferry.

when i was a frosh, i saw the brentroad.com in the tunnel and thought it was something about the block party, just something stupid.
I thought thewolfweb.com and brentroad.com were two completely different things. brentroad.com is memorable, b/c of it being in the news, but TWW sounds more like something i'd want to use, it's generic name giving it more appeal. the only problem is that when i signed up for tww, i thought to myself, how the hell am i going to rember this url? you need to make it known that the 2 websites are exactly the same.

Chalk would be cheap and easy. all around bragaw. not sure of the solicitation policy covering that.

also, you need to make known the features of tww. when i signed up, i just loked at the message boards and realized it was just a lot of useless blabber. then when my e101 ta told how we could search for teacher reviews, it was a whole new *useful* tww.

taglines are needed:
Quote :
"Bored? Go to brentroad.com"

^ i esp. like this one
Quote :
"teacher reviews on thewolfweb.com"

Quote :
"book exchange on brentroad.com"

I runon sentances

i do my share of advertising

I emailed these to Jake... just thought the rest of you might want to know

Chalking is allowed on horizontal surfaces where the rain can wash it off.
