^^Peacefullness of the protests in the US separates "excercising your right" with "breaking the law". Greece is doing it wrong. The protestors over there are sending their economy (which by the way greatly relies on tourism industry) even deeper into the shitcan.

It’s true, there have been a few instances of protesters at Occupy Wall Street making anti-Semitic remarks and holding anti-Semitic signs, but even the Anti-Defamation League said that there is “no evidence that these incidents are widespread.”

I'm just curious as to what sorts of people are driven to the anti-semetic beliefs.

I have friends who have been by these things, and they say that the Alex Jones folks are some of the loudest people out there, and they're known for that sort of stuff. I'd hardly characterize them as the best representative of anything except their own views.

Anti-semitism would be chased the fuck out of the Pittsburgh movement, I know that for sure. Hell, tons of protesters are Jewish themselves.

I know you really want the OWS movement to be racist just like you and a large proportion of your allies, but nobody's falling for this dumb shit except people who are ignoring OWS, listening instead to pundits

In fact come to think of it, I've only seen a single instance of an anti-semetic poster (referring to "banking jews"), and it was the poster of an "End the Fed" libertarian wackjob. Not really helping yourself out here, but hey, why am i even bothering. Literally nothing you think is based on the truth

By most people's definitions that actually use the term anti-Semitic, yes, you are. Being pro-Semitic means forcing other people to pay for Israel's protection, even if you're too cowardly to do so yourself.

I've always been perplexed by the "issue" of anti-Semitism in the United States. Jewish people are basically white and, on average, tend to have more money and more success than "regular" white people. I mean, they're a minority, sure, but they're not hurting like a lot of blacks and hispanics. Shouldn't regular white people be getting some kind of affirmative action to put us on equal footing with the Jewish minority?

In before "you're anti-Semitic".

How convenient that the people you hate ("libertarian wackjobs") happen to be the only ones that hold some other, unrelated viewpoint in your mind.

Trutherism and belief in a monolithic wealthy successful Jewish community, you're on a roll today.

Just stop putting your foot in your mouth, jeeze. I mean, why even ask those questions if it's not some horrible problem? Unless you think it really does matter...

Anti-Semitism has been traditionally tied to bank-paranoia. It doesn't make end the fed wackos anti-semetic by default, but if you think that movement has 0% anti-semite content (DUE to the banks==jews equivocation) then you just aren't reading or every single person with this viewpoint is a plant

There's pretty much 2 groups that still push that stuff:

1) Anti-Israel Muslims
2) Paranoid Alex Jones types that think it's all a part of a global Illuminati/Masonic/Demon/Bilderberg/NAU/NWO/HAARP

PS I love reading up on conspiracy shit.

stories like this: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/10/19/rnc-says-dems-silent-as-anti-semitic-tone-emerges-at-occupy-wall-street/?test=latestnews are hilarious bullshit

are they tracking the discussions inside OWS about these sorts of things? have they seen what protesters have said against this kind of divisive, racist horse-crap? the difference between the tea party and OWS is that this BS is run out of the movement systematically, or at least, shut down and discredited internal to the organization. of course you people would rather pontificate than learn or participate so *fartz*

seriously a lot of this stuff is on the internet and you guys can go check it out ... it's free ... why would you continue to rely on the people who continue to lie to you rather than look for yourself?

I'll admit, I see a lot of shit in article/youtube/whatever comments where someone will post what seems like a "form letter" anti-Jew banking statement, demanding that everyone watch Zeitgeist. I don't think this is a large percentage of people, but it is out there and I don't fully understand it.

I think the vast majority of anti-banking, anti-Fed folks don't give a shit what background the bankers have. All that matters is that they're extracting wealth on a daily basis.

While I have come to realize that you frequently and intentionally spread lies, I'm curious to see you elaborate on the Alex Jones point. I've never heard him say anything anti-Jew, though he's certainly anti-Zionist, which I don't have a problem with.

this one goes into a lot more detail than the one above:

"In 2005 median Asian household wealth had been greater than the median for white households, but by 2009 Asians lost their place at the top of the wealth hierarchy. Their net worth fell from $168,103 in 2005 to $78,066 in 2009, a drop of 54%. Like Hispanics, they are geographically concentrated in places such as California that were hit hard by the housing market meltdown. The arrival of new Asian immigrants since 2004 also contributed significantly to the estimated decline in the overall wealth of this racial group. Absent the immigrants who arrived during this period, the median wealth of Asian households is estimated to have dropped 31% from 2005 to 2009. Asians account for about 5% of the U.S. population."

There may not have been enough of them in the surveys to make a good sample size; even if you lump in the Pacific Islanders that still only brings you up to about 5% of the country (though in California and especially Hawaii it's different).

yeh i remember that government sponsored class they made where they taught only asian, and european white people how to gain equity, invest in their 401ks, buy property and houses, and save money.

that was such a cool class. oooohhhhhh wait...... it doesn't exist. in fact the opposite does where they cater directly to other races though.

also i love how pryderi and his socialist radicals have shut up after all the media being done on this complete horse-shit protest.

c'mon Trap, shut the fuck up with this nonsense. Al Jazeera is good for only one thing; in-depth reporting and footage of the Middle East. And even then, you can't trust a single goddamn thing they report about Israel.

There is absolutely no question that they have a journalistic bias against major corporations. They have been drumming up story after story about how BP "poisoned" the entire Gulf of Mexico with the dispersants they used. They come up with these dubiously qualified "experts" that assure the reader/viewer that the water is irreparably toxic and that tens of thousands of people are sick and/or dying from the Corexit. Lately they've been trying the angle that there is some type of massive coverup by BP to intimidate the entire region and conceal the "truth" about how many people are sick and dying around the gulf. And that's just Al Jazeera English. You can imagine what they print in Arabic. It's bullshit reporting in the worst kind of way.

Don't expect to get any kind of objectivity from them on the topic of OWS or corporations in the US.

This is sorta relevant and interesting

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21228354.500-revealed--the-capitalist-network-that-runs-the-world.html

A complex system study shows that about 147 companies (that all own parts of each other) control 40 percent of a network of 43,000 companies in the world.

Not necessarily a bad thing , but it certainly shows how bad economic stuff can cascade around the world pretty quickly.

Surprise!, most are banks

i know you're going to try to call me out on this. but i have a message for you. i would support govt regulated and controlled health and car insurance for everybody in the country. OH SHIT DELETE THIS BEFORE MY TEA PARTY FRIENDS READ IT DURR.

but there you have it. the diff is you don't see me outside protesting pretending i'm a social outcast that has been robbed by some clever guys in business suits who did their hw and learned how to make money instead hitting x and weed every other night. instead i'm going to silently vote and influence my friends through playful and clever banter to make a similar candidate choice to whomever would push these agendas. that means no bachmann and perry for me

^ You are characterizing these protesters all wrong Bryan. X-raving potheads? Really? Until you can see past this propaganda and realize that the protesters are essentially the same as you and I--honest hardworking taxpayers who are being gamed by the top 1%--then you will not understand this movement. For now, you can quit spreading the lies and I would suggest encouraging your friends to spread the truth, that these protesters are made up of the most informed Americans out there.
