I realize now how lofty the final 4 expectation was. Although looking at the team and the potential it had (still does) I could see us having a very good year. Still could happen, college basketball is crazy this year, but yea my expectation have def. been checked.

Yeah all my buddies from high school went to UF and I tell them all the time that I would give up serious cash if we could just win one championship (ACC or NCAA) in either football or basketball. They think I am crazy, but they are spoiled beyond belief by the success of UF's athletics.

20 years ago we had an athletic history similar to UF's in football and far superior in basketball. Now they are light years ahead of us in football and have an comparable basketball history (more Final Fours for example). Imagine if we had gotten the other Pitino assistant in Donovan instead of captain mediocrity Herb?

In a tie with UVA for 3rd we end up 4th because of head to head

In a tie with UNC for 3rd: If they lose to Duke, we are 3rd. If they beat Duke we are 4th due to records vs top ACC ranked teams

Are we turning a bit of a corner?

I'm not terribly worried about a road loss to an angry rival but it seems like we are finally punishing bad teams. I mean great teams like Virginia certainly would do the same to all sub-100 teams, as they've proven all year long, but for a mediocre team like State I like the last two weeks as a whole.

Let's see how we play on the road at GT this weekend. Our team still has not shown that we can play a full 40 min on the road. That GT game will be tough as they are a dirty team and can throw a lot of big bodies at CJL and Howell. Hopefully Wood and Warren will both continue their recent hot streaks.
