people already do think that, but please do point out any

"manly looking female body-builders"

i have posted in the fitness ladies thread.

heck, even in the pic 2 pages back, with 10 pics together numbered 0 to 9, i didn't even pick the bodybuilder in my top 3, and only included her in the top 5.

your point stands that people like different things, however, i also want to point out that i don't like what people think i like, and i don't also post pics of them.

still i find it strange that someone raised in america and not of african origin would pick the 40% over the 2nd and 3rd pics.

im a white male raised in america, i think the 35% image is the most desireable, but i would pick the 40% above the ultra low body fat images. i think females with some meat on their bones are sexy, much more so than skin and bones or girls who are more ripped than me, and im not a large guy either. Im 5'10 and weigh less than 140 pounds.

you would seriously pick the 40% over the 20-22% pic?

aside from the fact that she has unsightly belly-, leg-, and hip-fat, she will crush you!

and the 20-22% pic is not ripped. she is just lean. and going by your body type, she would be a perfect match, if not going by your preferences.

Because we should all marry someone within our body type, not our preferences.

People dig different things. It leaves more skinny chicks for you so just let him enjoy what he enjoys. I have dated one fit, muscular dude. Sexy times and cuddle times were uncomfortable and not as enjoyable as with a slightly plumper man, at least in my opinion.

Are you fat? I think people usually pick a body type similar to there own because they think they have a chance.

YOU EAT TOO MUCH
Greg Stevens explains why people get fat, what to do about it and why fat people should stop complaining about being ‘shamed’ by society.
http://www.kernelmag.com/features/report/6051/you-eat-too-much/
Quote :
"
[...]
Consider, for example, the broad and complex issue of the politics of self-esteem. It is true that our society has a strained relationship with youth idolisation and images of beauty. We simultaneously demonise “shallowness” while putting skinny, pretty people on a pedestal.
It is also true that this has a complicated and damaging psychological effect on people who may never be able to attain a “magazine cover body”, especially when they are inundated with these images from a young age.
But none of this has anything to do with obesity. An honest conversation about obesity is not about forcing people to “conform to a standard of beauty”; it is about health. An honest conversation about obesity will not focus around whether or not girls who are slightly full-figured can still be considered “sexy”. An honest conversation about obesity should not be about whether society has the “right” to dictate body-image.
In a conversation about obesity, anybody who starts foaming at the mouth about the tyranny of fashion magazines is deflecting from the real issue. Obesity is not about “standards of beauty”; it is about people who are medically and dangerously overweight.
If you are obese, then you can lose weight regardless of whether you can (or should) attain a swimsuit model body. More often than not, introducing this kind of political issue into the conversation is just a cover for laziness: it is explicitly or implicitly part of an argument that says, “Because I cannot ever look like a person one of those fashion magazines, I’m going to just eat whatever the hell I want and never exercise.”
There is no other area in life in which that kind of argument makes sense. Imagine your child coming to you and saying, “I don’t think I’m smart enough to ever get an A in maths, so I’m just never going to study it at all!”
[...]"

Quote :
"A California fitness enthusiast and mother of three is defending a controversial photo of herself that has prompted a cavalcade of Facebook critics to accuse her of fat shaming women.

In the photo, seen at left, 32-year-old Maria Kang poses in a workout bra and matching micro shorts — revealing an incredibly toned figure with washboard abs — while surrounded by her three young sons, now 1, 3 and 4. Floating above her head is the question, “What’s your excuse?” The picture has gone viral, with more than 16 million views on Facebook, and has generated more than 12,000 comments. And while much of the input has been of the supportive “you go, girl” variety, plenty of it has been made up of angry, offended personal attacks on the photo subject, calling her everything from “obnoxious” and “fake” to a bad mom and a bully.

But Kang, in an exclusive interview with Yahoo Shine, says that making other women feel bad about themselves is the opposite of what she was going for.

“I wanted to inspire people,” she explains, adding that the “What’s your excuse?” part was simply a borrowed, popular phrase that’s been used in various “fitspiration” campaigns. “I wanted to say, ‘I know you think you don’t have time if you have kids. But if I can do it, you can do it, too.’”

Kang, of Sacramento, California, is a former pageant queen and fitness competitor who founded the nonprofit Fitness Without Borders in 2007. She's also a recovering bulimic. Kang says she understands why some people reacted so defensively. “I think people struggle with their weight,” she notes. “When you add on being a mother — and the pressures we face to have it all and be everything, including fit — the expectations are so high. I think some moms saw the picture and just said, ‘This is ridiculous.’” But still, she says, “I felt really frustrated. Being called a bad mother and a bad person definitely hurts.”

Though she first posted the photo to her Facebook page a year ago, Kang noticed it was being shared a lot more recently and that it was generating a swell of negative comments toward her. So she reposted it to her own 72,000-plus followers, tacking on an apology — which, she admits, is really a “non-apology.”

“I'm sorry you took an image and resonated with it in such a negative way. I won't go into details that I struggled with my genetics, had an eating disorder, work full time owning two businesses, have no nanny, am not naturally skinny and do not work as a personal trainer,” she wrote, in part. “What I WILL say is this. What you interpret is not MY fault. It's yours. The first step in owning your life, your body and your destiny is to OWN the thoughts that come out of your own head. I didn't create them. You created them. So if you want to continue ‘hating’ this image, get used to hating many other things for the rest of your life.”

That post brought a frenzy of negative responses, including, “Those precious little things need their mommy more than they need you to have glamour muscles,” “Not that I *NEED* an excuse for not working out, but here's mine you self-righteous idiot … fibromyalgia,” “You are part of the body shaming problem that is going on in North America and other parts of the world,” and “You are a bully with a super inflated sense of your own self.”

Many others, though, rallied in defense of Kang, with “Never apologize,” “Get a life and leave this woman alone,” and “Well done!”

Because of the barrage, Kang has put together a FAQ page about her personal life, with responses to many of the criticisms and accusations she’s become accustomed to hearing. For example: “Do you work?” (Yes. She owns two small residential care facilities for the elderly.) “Do you have a nanny?” (No.) “Are those your kids? They all look different.” (“I have to say this is the funniest comment I’ve read. Of course, my children look like both the mother and father,” she writes. “I am half Malaysian Chinese and Filipina. My husband is a Caucasian mix of German, French, Norwegian and Spanish. They are all my kids.”)

Kang says she works out five to six days a week, about an hour at a time, doing a half-hour of strength training and a half-hour of cardio — running, the stair climber, or a spin or Zumba class. She adds that, while it might seem amazing that she can fit in regular exercise while raising three kids and working, she structures her time in ways that make it all work. She watches no TV, for example, wakes up at 6 a.m., and, while she’s at the park with her children, “I’m working out. I’m not sitting there on my iPhone.” And she gets plenty of help from her husband, David Casler.

Casler, who suffered a traumatic brain injury during a bomb attack in Iraq, where he worked as a private security contractor, is no longer able to work. He volunteers, though, with the Team Rubicon disaster-relief organization.

It's not the first time a fitness-oriented mom has caused an online uproar. Just last month, a stay-at-home mom in Los Angeles received a barrage of criticism after posting a photo of herself lifting weights during a CrossFit workout.

Kang concludes that much in life is mind over matter — whether it’s recovering from an attack like her husband’s or staying in slamming shape while raising a brood of boys. “It’s really where your mind is,” she says, referring to the different ways that people might interpret her photo. “I just hope that the person who feels completely overwhelmed can see they can control their own destiny. To know that there’s no excuse for not making time for yourself.”"

Plus, having abs 8 months after giving birth is ridiculous in the sense of how many hours of training and food prep it would take. Your average person with an average life absolutely cannot do it. Isn't she a full time fitness model? So that means she gets paid to go to the gym daily and probably gets free supplements and shit.

Haven't read the whole thing, but what caught my eye is that she has no nanny. So who looks after the babies when she is at the gym? Obviously, she has some help looking after the kids, and that comes down to privilege.

^If she's still breastfeeding exclusively for an 8 month old I think you'd be surprised to see how many calories that burns.
That doesn't do a thing for muscle building, but I know several moms who have bounced back pretty quickly because they were able to maintain a healthy (not extreme) diet and exercise regimen while breastfeeding.

For example, my wife had a calorie intake that was almost double my weight loss diet (I was 220, eating about 2,000 calories a day +excercise) during my oldest sons first year, it took her just a few months to drop her pregnancy weight and she still outpaced me on weight loss.

Quote :
" So who looks after the babies when she is at the gym?"

Most larger gyms have drop-in childcare. It's not unreasonable to see parents bring the kids in to play in the nursery or kinder-care for 90 minutes while they lift weights.
A lot of YMCA's and similar community or faith based health centers offer child-care as well so that parents can maintain healthy exercise regimes.

Usually to maintain this kind of fit-life, the sacrifices are indulgences you allow yourself; alcohol, comfort food, sitting up late binging on a netflix series, sleeping in, quick food, vegging out on the couch, etc.

My wife and I are struggling with this now that we're adjusting to life with 2. It's harder for most people to give up their comfort areas when you add in the stress of multiple kids, but for those that are able to establish healthy lifestyles, it is a higher quality of life.

I will say the vitriol she received from the above photo isn't surprising. It appears a lot more "holier than thou" than motivational.

My sacrifice comment was in reference to two activities: running her businesses full time, and raising 3 very young children. Yes, I am sure she sacrifices all the things you mentioned, but I don't care for those things and if one doesn't indulge in those, you can't really tell them off for it.

Plus, the gym time and food prep time must be substantial, and not to mention, you have to sleep enough as well if you want to maintain that body, you can't sleep 4 hours a night like a high power banker or something.

So, I guess the answer is, her husband does most of the child raising, he has to be, because otherwise she wouldn't really be able to run two businesses full time and maintain that body.

BTW, that pic is 2 years old and was posted and debated here last year. Just pointing it out to
say that we don't have to guess anything... all the answers exist on the internet.

Just went to her site and got this about her professional life and daily routine. Definitely clears up a lot.

Quote :
"1. What do you do for a living?
I am a freelance writer, fitness blogger and director of a fitness non profit organization. I also
manage residential care home facilities and recently built my very own!

2. What does a typical day look like for you?
Since having kids my schedule has changed a lot. I am a stay-at-home working mom. After I nurse
my son in the early morning, I try to get to the gym by 6:30am and workout:I like to get my
priorities out of the way, the first being my commitment to my health and fitness.

Then around 8am I get my sons up: feed, clean, play then I work on emails, phone calls, and
writing and work projects. I sychronize my hunger with my meal times, which I’ve made it a habit to
be at approx. at 9am/12pm/3pm/5pm and 8pm. I visit my care home facilities around noon and
perform errands during the late afternoon. I also usually schedule my meetings around this time.
Around 5pm I cook dinner, then try to get back on the computer later in the evening to write and
respond to emails. At 10pm I fall asleep with the kids or work until midnight."

Also, she has a special FAQ section about the controversy surrounding that pic, and it definitely
answers any question anybody might have regarding her personal and professional life vis-a-vis
maintaining that body and raising three kids.

http://www.mariakang.com/about/#tabs-5

BTW, she is 125 pounds at 5' 4", but wasn't always like that. She says she was a thick child
growing up, was 145 when she got married, and reached 175 max during pregnancy.

I mean, I'd rather have the right than the left, especially if she wasn't all dried out and cut up for contest shape (she might be decent looking when she's at maintenance weight), but yeah, that's way overdone.

That just illustrates how gross fatness is, for it to be even worse.
