^^When we were in high school, cell phones and digital cameras were barely a thing, let alone texting/etc. Current technology allows students to interact with their teachers inappropriately way easier than it ever was for us. On top of that, the likelihood of getting caught goes down substantially when there are no pictures of anything to back it up. If some kid started talking about how he banged his hot teacher when we were in HS, nobody would believe him. If he had tons of pictures of her naked as well as conversations to back them up, there is no reason to doubt it.

^^That's good to hear. If the teacher had any other career it would have been a non-issue except for any cheating she may have been doing. No teaher should go to jail anywhere for banging a student. They should lose their teaching license though and never be allowed to teach again.

he kinda did, right after that statement...and i think it was implied that this is assuming age of consent, etc. The idea is that you shouldn't go to the slammer specifically and only because of your profession.

That said, there should also be some language about the student not feeling pressured due to the inherent power disparity.

Military fraternization laws are probably a pretty good model, for many of the same reasons. That's effectively how these scenarios are being treated, except that the teachers come out the other side with sexual assault (or rape?) convictions, in cases when they did no such thing.
