Blizzard games are notorious for being targeted for account hacking. In addition to not having your password saved (you can't anyway) I'd recommend getting the free Authenticator app for your phone or buy an Authenticator.

Yeah blizzard should have known once you include a real money AH the hackers and account thieves would be out in full force. Not only that, but botting is always going to be attempted and this makes it even more of a desire. I really hope blizzard can control that otherwise the economy is going to crumble and in the end it will be a game full of people in the best gear possible because they bought it all for $3 from a chinese farmer.

not to mention that only ruins your fun if you use it. i personally don't use the AH at all since the entire fun to me is finding the loot (otherwise the game takes next to no time to beat). sure, i'll trade with friends, but I'm not actively looking to make my search for phat lewtz easy.

I installed the new GeForce drivers, but I did not activate the ambient occlusion or the FXAA yet. Has anyone done so and how many FPS did you sacrifice? It doesn't make the game look good enough (or makes anough difference in visual quality for me) to warrant a major drop in FPS (-15+ frames), and the game runs fine on my machine just the way it is, but I'll test it out later.

Unless you get lucky like I did, you almost always find Legendary items that are good only for a much lower level than the level you are at when you find the item. I was level 48 and found the level 47 Legendary axe it its pretty good me even now at level 52.

When an auction item sells and you send the money to your stash, does it just automatically go to your player's bank account or is there a way to take it out of the stash? I've sold some things and just assumed that it was going right to my main players money amount, but haven't paid attention and didn't see any place where I could pull money from the stash.

Real money goes into your Blizzard account, then it will take 15% fee to have that transferred to your PayPal account. For now, you have to ransfer gold manually to your stash.

if something sells you go to the completed auctions tab and on the left side of that there'll be a list of recently completed auctions with either gold or an item attached. click the money/item and then send to stash.

obv you wouldnt want items to auto go back into your stash cause they'd take up space but idk why blizz doesnt auto send gold to your stash

New 7200 rpm hard drive and Windows 7 (couldn't find my god damned xp key) in the wife's computer. It defaulted to much much higher graphics setting and I couldn't reproduce the frame drops myself so we'll see how it goes in a public game tonight.

Also blew like a pound of dust out of the case.

There is absolutely no reason to craft anything in this game. None.

Farm for gold, and buy something someone else found on the AH for far less (generally) than you would have spent trying to craft something comparable at these artisans.

Also, the gold auction house is a fucking mess. Theres no way RMAH is going to launch successfully.

i am not willing to use the auction house, yet. i want to find everything in-game.

you can find good items quickly by playing with others and telling them what to look for. playing with two other people last night, we were tossing items to each other and all came up with some pretty good stuff.

i have actually crafted many of my best items over the course of the game. at level 30 now.

crafting is a good way to get that ONE piece you just can never find. that sheer amount of pages it requires to craft crap in nightmare+ is annoying though. i max out the blacksmith firs thten use the rest of the pages i find to craft.

noone is dropping real money on items in a game at this point.

Its also completely foolish to pay the artisan to make gems. Its probably the worst thing you can do. Far cheaper to buy them on the AH. And I mean far far cheaper.

^^Not at all. I think right now everyone is still gearing up and are buying into the idea of a Gold AH because its there. Give it a month or two and gold will be useless. Hopefully we don't go back to the SoJ standard.

I think they just need more ways to dump huge amounts of gold. I know there is something to buy from a vendor for 100k, but there needs to be more. (Maybe there are that I just haven't found?)

FYI, if the AH says your auction timed out, give it some time and check your gold amount. I had all my timeouts actually go through so i bought like 5 gems when i only wanted 1. It just took a few min to show up in my completed auctions section.

Yeah, I had that happen too with gems. I like the AH interface, but it's far too glitchy right now. You can snag some really great rares for super-cheap though. Agreed that there's no reason to level up the artisans or craft things yourself right now, unless you get a good recipe to teach the blacksmith.

I bought a rare weapon for 1000, used it for two days until I bought something new to replace it, then sold it for 12000. For now the AH is great, but things are going to quickly spiral out of control with so few things taking money out of the economy and nothing being bind on equip. Even socketing gems is reversible for relatively cheap.

Ran across a creature I could not kill at all in act two inferno. Was one of those flying things that spits out little ones that do damage on impact, was also vampiric molten. Thing would heal itself while I tried to do any damage and absolutely rape me with the molten.
