Volkswagen-Based ‘Phantoms’ Debuts at Essen Motor Show

http://news.windingroad.com/etc/volkswagen-based-phantoms-debut-at-essen-motor-show/

Quote :
"It’s a shame we don’t have much information on this wild Vokswagen-based artwork. All we know right now is that the project was completed by William Burge, an artist from Houston, there is a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle underneath all that artwork, and we really want to check it out in person."

Mercedes Fine Weather Popemobile

Quote :
"By request of the Pope, Head of the Catholic Church, himself, Mercedes has made a one-off open-top G 500 Popemobile which took over two years to develop. The Pope will use the Vatican Mystic White Cabriolet for his Wednesday audiences on St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.

Besides this G 500 Cabrio, the Pope also has an M and S-Class at his disposal. Mercedes provided their first car to Pope Pius XI in 1930, a Nurburg 460 pullman limousine. And even though the Popemobile has almost 300 hp at its disposal, it is not likely to be driven fast or taken off-road.

The new Popemobile is equipped with a folding windscreen and hand-rails. The interior is of course white too and the access steps in the rear are lined in red."

According to a source at BMW:

Quote :
"“it will be the most powerful SUV ever built”. "

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080121.004/latest-bmw-x5-4.8is-spy-photos

Quote :
"According to a source at BMW, the new range-topper in the X5 range will be badged 4.8iS just like the previous one. But while the last vehicle had a 4.8-litre naturally-aspirated V8, the new car will sport a turbo, probably two, just like the new X6, and use the 4.4-litre V8. All the source could say as far as power is concerned, was that “it will be the most powerful SUV ever built”. Big words indeed. We can however, speculate that it will be higher than 500HP/373kW since this is roughly the power currently produced by the most potent lot at this level."

Look at the massive openings in the front grille:

Mutec Stretched Rolls-Royce Phantom

Quote :
"Feeling frustrated that your Rolls-Royce Phantom doesn’t have enough room for you and your entourage, forcing you to take a less glamorous vehicle with seating for six? If so German coachbuilder Mutec has created the solution, by introducing a version of the Phantom that has been stretched 43 inches.

As an official Rolls-Royce coachbuilder, Mutec features world class craftsmanship with modifications that look like they came straight from the factory. The rear bench has been replaced by two sets of seats from the Phantom’s theater seating package, to create individual seating for four. Completing the interior are extended privacy curtains, modified center consoles, and a retractable partition that separates rear passengers from the driver."

Mitsuoka Galue 204

Quote :
"Mitsuoka, in addition to building the sea creature-like Orochi sports car, is best known for its quirky "regular" models, which are simply rebodied vehicles that are usually made to look like British classics. Today, the boutique automaker unveiled the Galue 204, which is based on the current Toyota Corolla Axio (sedan). Mechanically, all the Corolla Axio options are available -- 1.5 or 1.8L engines, optional 4WD, etc. Visually, you get an "Old Luxury" face (watch out for marauding Audi R8s) and a rear that looks lifted right off a late-model Cadillac Fleetwood. It makes for an amusing automotive mash-up, and ultimately, a suitably eccentric novelty vehicle. This is one Corolla that certainly can't be accused of looking boring. "

First Ducati Desmosedici RR in America goes to Tom Cruise

Quote :
"For a reported $72,500, Tom gets the first Desmosedici RR to arrive in the United States. The roadgoing version of the racing bike ridden by MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner, only 1,500 of which will be made, built around an 800cc V4 kicking out 200 horsepower. The first 500 Desmosedici RRs were slated to go to owners of the 999R, but while Cruise is known to be a previous Ducati owner, a simple "show me the money" moment probably put him at the top of the list."

Ford turns Focus into musical instruments

Quote :
"Composer Craig Richey, sound designer Bill Milbrodt, and friends used a five-door Focus fresh from the factory floor, took it apart, then used the car's many parts to create 31 musical instruments. We're not talking flutes and trombones here, folks. The musical maestros used Focus parts to create such original works as a Rear Suspension Spike Fiddle and Door Harp. Ford will then hand over the Motorcraft-edition instruments to a full-blown orchestra to lay the sound track for the next Focus commercial. The ad will be aired on ITV in Europe on Feb. 4. "

Finnishing Touch: Cosworth-powered Ford Model A

Goddamn

Quote :
"But this has to be the most extreme application we've seen yet: a 1929 Model A with a 250hp rally-spec Cosworth.

The custom job is the work of Finnish outfit Mäkelä Auto Tuning, the same firm that built the ice speed record-setting Bentley Continental GT. This time, MAT received a mandate from the Model A's owner to restore the classic to pristine condition while giving it some extra juice. So they took the engine out of a Ford Escort BDA Cosworth Group 4 rally car and dropped it into the restored chassis. The result could very well be the ultimate sleeper: a vintage Ford that hits sixty in five flat and tops out at 124 mph. That's got to be one heck of a scary ride. "

That Model A is unfuckingbelievable. The lengths they went to are amazing. The wheels are solid aluminum, but perfectly hand painted to look like wood. They even included a switch that induces misfire to make it a more convincing sleeper.

Baby Cayenne

What would it be called? If they stick with the naming starting with 'C'?

I say Cougar.

It will be based on the new Audi Q5. If it is anything like the Cayenne, it will be a runaway success, eating away at the sales of the FX, Q5, X3, LR2, GLK, Tiguan, RX, RDX, etc.

FUCK YOU, YOU GOD DAMNED SCIENTOLOGIST. GOD OEPII, YOU FUCKING SICKEN ME FOR GETTING A HARD ON FOR SUCH A COCK FUCKER. NO SCIFAG DESERVES THAT BIKE. NONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO HE CONVINCES TO GIVE ALL OF THEIR FUCKING MONEY AWAY TO THE ORG CAN EVER BUY ONE. CHECK OUT TOM TELLING PEOPLE HOW THEY AREN'T GIVING ENOUGH, PEOPLE REALLY RUN THEMSELVES INTO THE GROUND FOR THE ORG AND THEN HAVE TO LIVE AND WORK THERE TO KEEP PAYING FOR COURSES. THEY OFTEN GET PAID WAGES ON THE ORDER OF $50 A WEEK TO WORK 80+ HOURS A WEEK. SOME OF THE 10 YEAR OLDS HAVE TALKED ABOUT HAVING TO WORK 48+ HOURS STRAIGHT WITH NO BREAKS ON SOME WEEKENDS. OF COURSE TOM DOESN'T GIVE ALL OF HIS MONEY.

"BEING A SCIENTOLOGIST, YOU LOOK AT SOMEONE AND YOU KNOW YOU CAN HELP THEM. WHEN YOU DRIVE PAST AND ACCIDENT YOU STOP, BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN HELP."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFBZ_uAbxS0

You'll need this vocabulary list to understand what Tom Cruise is talking about. That's another thing about the cult, they get you to begin using a new vocabulary so that outsiders don't understand you anymore. It further distances you from outsiders.

*KSW: Keeping Scientology Working, a policy written by Hubbard in the 1960's that requires all scientologists to follow his words and his rules exactly. It also means you need to invest all of your time and money into the org.

*Org: Organization, ie - scientology and its "churches."

*David Miscavige: Current head of scientology, he dresses in a naval uniform because Hubbard was in the Navy and they buy into the lies about what happened while he was in the service.

*Out-ethics: Any behavior that goes against Hubbard's rules of conduct. There are a LOT of things that are considered out-ethics.

*Put ethics in on someone else: Make others conform to Hubbard's rules. He's really talking about making people put more time and money into the org. "You're either on board or you're not." This is his way of saying "it's all or nothing, either put all of your time and money into it or leave." The funny thing is, leaving isn't really an option because they take all of your money and then when you leave they slap more legal suits on you than you can deal with. Even if they get thrown out, you spend day after day at the court house dealing with them and there's nothing you can do about it.

*Criminon: Scientology front group that tries to recruit through the prisons.

*Narconon: Another front group, this one is scientology's drug abuse program. It's funny because "Alanon" and NA are legitimate organizations. They named it that so that people get confused and think Narconon is associated with those. If you go into a Narconon place, they will not mention their affiliation with scientology. In fact, they tend to deny it outright, but in reality they are one in the same. They use all of the same terms and use L Ron Hubbard's teachings to "fix" you. They give you vitamin bombs and put you in the sauna for 5+ hours at a time.

*SP: Suppressive Person. Anyone that doesn't like scientology and/or criticizes scientology. This is what he's talking about when he says that people ask him "have you ever met an sp?!" That should give you an indication of just how locked down the victims of this cult are. People who ask that question have never met someone who is against scientology.

*PTS: Potential Trouble Source, someone who may be an SP but has not yet been designated an SP.

*LRH Tech: L Ron Hubbard Technology, all scientology "Teachings" (ie - policies, rules, mandates, procedures).

*OT: Operating Thetan. These are the higher levels of scientology, where you really become nuts. OTIII is where you first learn about Xenu and the atomic bombs 75 million years ago. You find out that you have BT's attached to you and you must shed them. The only way to do this of course is to keep paying money to take more courses. To get to this level, most people have spent well over $100,000 if they aren't working for the org. If they do work for the org, it takes them forever to get to this level.

*BT: Body Thetan. The things that live in you. Your Thetan is a "soul," so a body thetan is another thetan that has to use your body because it can't find it's own. It's a result of what Xenu did 75 million years ago when he put everyone in the volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. If you look back, hydrogen bombs had just been invented when Hubbard came out with this bullshit story. So of course L. Ron Hubbard, being a science fiction writer, had to include them in his crazy story.
