The head hit is inexcusable, but the rest is just immaturity.

"It will be interesting to see what the nfl does about obj's hit on Norman. That could have really been dangerous and I am actually surprised Norman wasn't hurt. All the pushing and hitting is nothing compared to that. The hit crossed the line for me. Nfl will be in a tough spot cause beckham is a star, but you do have the concussion issue, including the movie coming out soon."

Giants are done suspend him for the final 2 games of the season and move on.

Adam Schefter says he's heard a one-game suspension is forthcoming for OBJ.

Will be interesting to see how much (if any) they fine Norman. He had some quality take downs yesterday too.

Norman didnt help the situation any, but OBJ and then the refs take the most blame. After the first 1 or 2 times they should have stepped in and warned both guys thats enough you both need to calm down or we start throwing flags, after 2 flags or so you tell both coaches you fix you guys or they are getting tossed next time. Both guys would have probably been gone in the first or 2nd quarter of that game unless they actually chilled out. Make no mistake had Norman done that same thing to OBJ I would be advocating for him to be done for at least 2 games as well.

OBJ's hit on Normans head should have been an ejection regardless of any warnings etc..., that was vicious. The officials just must not have seen the hit to the head.

I don't like benching the starters and losing momentum. I think we should go for the undefeated season.

But by God cam, stewart, olsen, norman, and kalil have all been involved in scary plays the past two weeks.

Let's get up 35-0 and bench guys. If we blow a big lead so be it. The benewienke injury definitely showed yesterday as Finnegan kept getting exposed. Particularly the play he quit on late that allowed YAC when Beckham turned it back inside.

Huge loss for Zona with honey badger getting hurt

Panthers are going to lose because we can't get pressure with our front four like past years and our secondary doesn't have the depth to cover for long. Kuechly and Davis's ability to able to cover receivers down field lets us get away with it for a bit, but it's killing us late in games against good QBs. Charles Johnson has been invisible since his return and Jared Allen simply should not be playing at this point. Ealy was playing really well at left DE and needs to be moved back there, with Johnson replacing Allen on the right side and Addison rotating in more on passing downs. Allen was supposed to be a band-aid, not a permanent fixture, and the line is relatively healthy right now. I wouldn't be worried about our secondary if we were getting more pressure up front.

yeah glad someone brought that up, that was what bothered me the most from the giants game, interesting our sack stats aren't bad at all, but our d line pass rush does feel pretty weak at times, gotta assume charles just needs to shake off some of the rust; although he's always seemed a little overrated to me (how much are we paying him now anyway?)

^^^was that a copy/paste? I swear i read this exact thing in this thread a couple weeks ago.

also, the NYG OL is the best we've faced all season in terms of Pass Protection. Getting pressure on Eli was a known issue going in.

And with the score being what it was most of the game, I doubt they were dialing up a lot of blitzes for fear of giving up the big play.

Yeah but it hasn't just been this game. Colts and Packers were able to get back in it because we just couldn't generate any pressure with our front four when playing with a big lead. We can't blitz all game, eventually a good QB will figure it out and start killing you, which is exactly what's happened.

I do like that it looks like we're giving Stew a month off before our playoff game. He'll be fresh and healthy after a season where he had a lot of carries.

well yeah, i mean if you sit back and play zone coverage, rush four QBs like Luck, Rodgers, Brees, and Manning will pick that apart. you're just asking for it.

The Jennings and Vereen TD's were some blown coverages. Had we stopped those i don't think this game would have been nearly as close.

Hope we destroy Matty Ice again this week

not surprising:
Quote :
"Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman has been fined a combined $26,044 for two offenses in Sunday's win over the New York Giants, according to a source.

Norman was fined $8,681 for a face-mask incident and $17,363 for striking Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in the head and neck area. ESPN contributor Jarrett Bell of USA Today Sports first reported the fines."
