i'm excited to see the new NEZ when it's complete and see if it has any effect on the noise levels, and how the atmosphere will be since the band shall be back with the big, old part of the student section. also i'm excited for it since it's my last semester as a student. i'm also looking forward to going to UMD and UVA, provided i can get tickets. i really have no expectations for this season. i'm gonna treat it like the way many UNC fans treated basketball at the beginning of the year. excited for another season, but not necessarilly proclaiming that it will be a great season. just go out have fun, and any wins that come will be great, while losses won't really matter so much. heck we might even have a decent season, since all the pressure will be off.

how is the Red Zone and the Dail Plaza coming along anyways? i know they've started filling in the concrete in some sections.

i'd love to go up to Morgantown and see where couches are burned like witches in Salem. "we must ignite this couch" <---that's actually a real website devoted to WVU, haha.

West Virginia University - Where Greatness Is Learned and Furniture Is Burned.

Defensive End Raymond Brooks is back on the post spring depth chart and roster.

oh and in a few more hours it'll be 106 days left till gameday. anyone think we'll beat the tar heels this year?

Keys to a Successful Season: ACC
The one thing each ACC team must accomplish to have a successful 2006.

Quote :
"NC State: Get More Productivity From Under Center – Head coach Chuck Amato is still searching for a replacement to former great Philip Rivers at quarterback. The staff has apparently settled on Marcus Stone for now. Stone replaced Jay Davis midway through last season and did an admirable job. He finished the year with eight touchdowns and six interceptions, though his 48% completion percentage and 112-yard per game average were far from inspiring. Stone is a talented athlete, but he needs to show more polish on his passes and the ability to stretch the field. For the Wolfpack to take a major step forward, they need more than a serviceable option leading the offense."

surprise, surprise, we need better QB play to be successful. like that wasn't a given.

nah man go ahead and do it. i started this years thread and last years thread. i had the idea to post the players and a little info on them when their jersey # corresponded with the number of days left. i won't be able to get on here a lot till June 3rd when i make my return to Raleigh and high speed internet. (parents have dial-up at home ) feel free to do it, add anything, and discuss anything concerning Pack football and college football. the more discussion the better. i love to see this thread near the top, haha. it usually means people are getting more excited about the upcoming football season.

so i've seen on some other message boards that fans of other schools (particulary hole fans) think that Amato is the clear cut guy on the hot seat in the ACC this year, and will be fired if he wins only 6 games. i think Amato's seat is warm, b/c he needs to prove that he can actually coach, and his success wasn't all b/c of Rivers, but i doubt he'd be fired after this year barring a total meltdown. he is an alum, and has brought State into the national spotlight. he's taken us to 5 bowl games in 6 years. Bunting has only gone to 2 bowl games. losing to UNC does suck, but i just don't see how Amato's seat is anymore hotter than Bunting's. what do you all think? do you think these other fans just need to shut up, b/c they don't know how State fans really feel, and they believe were just a bunch of trigger happy people b/c of the Sendek situation? or do you think they are right. we did go 5-1 in our final 6 games.

if i were amato i would notice how much our AD was willing to throw at a new basketball coach and realize that since Sidney Lowe isn't getting anything near what we were offering Rick Barnes that we have access to money to throw at coaches. And if he has another mediocore season and the wolfpack club and alums start getting mad we might start throwing money at some big name coaches. Esp with the facilities and recent production of NFL prospects, i think a lot of decent coaches would be very interested in the head coaching job here.

^I am ready to see what he has got.

I think we have another Manny Lawson in Willie Young.

If Raymond Brooks can play, our DL will be fine with Tank Tyler and Demarrio Pressley in the middle.

yeah I like our DL this year, and the LBs/ROV should be good too, if you got faith in Reggie on the weak side (wooo Reggie). so we should be good against the run, and okay against west coast/underneath type shit I think.

I worry about our deep coverage though. anybody with a couple fast receivers could be big trouble, especially if they also have big, juicy facemasks

unless you really knew what they looked like you couldnt really pick them out of a crowd though. All the football players Ive seen around school, I couldnt pick them out of a line, they are all either: white guys with close hair cuts, black guys with braids/corn rows, or black guys with shaved heads.

ok off topic, but does anyone remember the movie "All The Right Moves"? it had Tom Cruise and he was a HS football player in some small Pennsylvania town and played for none other than the best tv/movie football coach Craig T. Nelson. well Cruise's character's girlfriend (Lea Thompson of Back to the Future) is talking to the coaches wife about not holding him back from going to college somewhere. well the coaches wife mentions that she had to go through the same sort of predicament with her HS sweetheart. she let him go, and went to North Carolina State, and that's where she met Craig T. Nelson's character. i remember when i first watched the movie and had to rewind it to make sure i heard it correctly. the movie was released in 1983, so i guess we were a pretty popular school back then due to our championship. i know Mitch's Tavern was in Bull Durham. "The Program" had an ice skating scene with Omar Epps and Halle Berry filmed at the Cary Ice House, and all of the campus scenes were filmed on Duke's campus. does anyone know of any other movies that mention State or have scenes filmed in the triangle?

There used to be a bumper sticker that read: "If God Is Not A Tarheel, Then Why Is The Sky Carolina Blue?" I checked into some theology at Duke Divinity School library and found out why Jesus wasn't born in Chapel Hill. God couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

well before you can play them, you have to get them to put you on their schedule. And they generally don't like a school that is good enough to beat them, but not good enough to give them any credit if they that school.

It's not Athlon, they have us at somewhere in the 50s or 60s nationally.

They also have us last in the division, so conceivably, yes, we very well might be next to last...though i expect us to play better than the expectations.

at nc state, low expectations=better results
