It was only a bit over $100. Still an unexpected surprise, I'd kissed that money goodbye. PI figured I'd only get a small portion of the balance if anything.

Seriously? Did you have your bank account tied to it initially? I had like $1200 in my account but I had only deposited once with an old debit card I no longer have.

Not sure exactly what you're asking but I got an email from the claims admin about 6 months ago that sent me to a website to verify my full tilt account. It asked then for my checking account info. It didn't care what you used originally. Got my 100ish bucks direct deposited last week.

Ditto except I only had $7 in my account so I didn't bother filling out the paperwork.

Ah interesting. I wasn't aware any of this happened. I'll have to dig through my old email address that I used because that would be nice to get some back.

so is congress going to get their heads out of their asses and legalize this in our lifetimes? there's SOOO much money to be made. i know they're the most idiotic group of people on the planet, but typically the potential for making money overrides incompetence

There was some headway being made with intrastate poker, which is the path it had to go in before being accepted by more states and eventually, interstate poker. Now you've got goons like Sheldon Adelson doing everything they can to push for a law to officially make it illegal. He won't succeed, but he'll certainly delay the process.

Wonder if anyone from this thread is still playing. I still do occasionally at mid-high stakes nowadays.

I was up against this guy at a local poker spot. I hated the guy so much for this shitty attitude and being a sore winner (he's mediocre btw but have money to burn).

I had pocket 10s.

the Flop; 10,8,J
the Turn; 10,8,J,2
The River; 10,8,J,2,8

by now its me and him left and the pot is about $3K.

I checked. He raised. i re-raised. He all in. I called.

By now the pot is about $5k.

I opened first.
I was so happy I hit a boat and finally get to say "Ship it!" to his face since he always say that shit to everyone.
He looked at me with a worry looked and nodded nonchalantly by my big hand.
He opened up with pocket 8s. I was mortified.
My feelings were disappointment, embarrassment, and shocked all at once.

And that was my last hand. Broke.

I think 1knl is probably the cutoff between mid and high.

And probably somewhere in the ballpark of $100+ online or 1.5k+ live for MTTs.

I only really have one.

I went to play a billiards tournament and because it was a holiday weekend there just weren't enough people to warrant playing, but there was a poker tournament there also so my friend and I decided to play.

I've only played poker in casual settings at people's houses, etc. but I know the actual odds fairly well. Anyway, I looked like a complete noob because I didn't know the proper etiquette for what you're supposed to do or whatever so I was constantly asking which deck I was supposed to cut and all that. For that reason, people were basically calling every bet I made. I played really conservatively (I think I only bluffed one or two hands the whole night) and ended up getting down to the final table. You could tell people were visibly pissed off being beaten by a complete rookie.

I finally got down to the last person and she was a bitter old lady who was clearly playing because she needed the money. I had quite a bit more chips than she did so I called her on pretty much everything I had a decent shot at winning and finally did beat her (don't remember the actual hand) but it was hilarious - she started yelling and making a scene.

tl;dr - won a poker tournament as a noob against a bunch of angry old veteran-players.

Played some 1-2 nl in Vegas a few weeks ago and made about $400 in 5 hours, so much easier than in the Triangle.

Yeah, that's an understatement. People in Vegas are insanely loose and have no idea about the math involved.

I haven't been in a few years, might try to hit up LV early next year for NFL playoffs or NCAA tournament. Sports books are too much fun.

^^ playing low chip games in vegas is like taking candy from a baby

I love it... Last time i went to vegas i funded most of the trip on low $ poker tables.

I think 3300 in 2 days.
