I've been considering purchasing a MAC Flowpath muffler on ebay, and I would like to hear some opinions on the muffler's sound level compared to a factory muffler, or compared to something like flowmaster/turbo-flow/glasspack. I have done a google search, but with no success.

you think the noise level was decent, or really loud (inside and out)?

well i have longtube headers and an off road h pipe, so it was going to be loud either way. I dont think its to loud. what kind of car are you getting them for, what engine, that makes a big difference. you can try to google search for sound clips of your paticular car.

I also have a set of flowmaster's 2.5 inch inlet and outlet. the inlets and outlets are offset on opposite sides of the muffler.

if you want to hear mine sometime you can. i park in colloseium(sp?) deck.

its going on a civic with header/full exhaust. Right now I am running two 12" resonators (one in the mid pipe, the other acting as muffler), and its so ungodly loud its not funny - probably have heard me at one point or another.... I was going for the extra ground clearance from the 3.5" OD resonator where the original barrel went on the system (6"x9" oval, way too much rice) - and have since learned that the noise level is unbearable after 5 minutes of travel time. I really dig the 3.75" thickness, all stainless construction, and price of the MAC mufflers over the flowmasters and other similarly constructed mufflers

well i prefer the mac sound over flowmaster on mustangs. the price also helped out my decision alot. i wouldnt say its the best sounding muffler i have heard but its the best sound for the price. of course what i might think sounds good you might think sounds like crap. Im happy with the fit and finish of my mac catback though if that helps you out.
