^ you basically claim the tickets when you pay for the guest tickets. So if you go through with the transaction, you're screwed unless you can find someone else to take the guest tickets. http://gopack.collegesports.com/tickets/ncst-football-student-distribution.html That may also help. It lists the distribution schedule for all home football games this season. Basically the only way you know if there's tickets left is to log in during the on demand period and try it, unless they send out emails like this game saying that there were extra tickets left.

^^ Well tough nuts bub.

I understand people's plans change, but that doens't mean an entire system can just on-the-fly revolve around you. I just can't fathom how people have difficulty with this system.

You either knew you needed tickets, or it was your risk to buy guest tickets at your expense whether they'd be used or not. Believe it not, this is real life.

yeah, it's amazing at how complicated people will make such an easy system. btw- if you have guest tickets, there are plenty of people still wanting them so it shouldn't be that hard to get rid of. Nothing else you can just talk to some of the people in the fairgrounds lot tomorrow and they'll probably know someone who might want them.

yeah, no shit, but she bought the tickets before our class and for some reason she didn't think it went through all right. and because of this ridiculous prohibition of gaining tickets after noon the day before the game, she thought she was up a fucking creek because she had class until now.

look, this has nothing to do with you, douche, so stay the fuck out. i love how you are all over about this system even though if has already fucked up majorly. goddamn man.

how did the system fuck up majorly? the system (which is just the distribution of student tickets) worked fine for the VT game. It was the implementation of other things at the stadium that failed. And they failed because people didn't communicate everything effectively. The system itself worked fine.

and if by saying that she bought the tickets before noon, you mean that she paid for them. Then there should be no problem. Cause in order for her to pay for them, they would be reserved under her name. So all she has to do is print them out, which can be done after the time that on-demand closes.

Well from what I saw the ticket system worked fairly well today. Only problem was that you couldn't tell a guest ticket from a student ticket and people with season tickets/regular tickets were trying to go through 10A. Other than that it went pretty smooth during the first 35-40min after the gates opened while I was there. Good job guys.

Smooth as butter 90 mins. prior to kickoff.

I got in really early to get front row for this one. I saw that Tony Baker bowl-over on #5 from closeup

yeah, the system worked flawlessly so far as I can tell

the only problem we had was confusion at 12 because of them having one side for normal tickets...and just drunk people

15 minutes before kickoff had a rush of people, but the stands were full by kickoff and tickets were all scanned

if we get out teh idea to people that they need to show up a little earlier, we'll be golden

but please, if anyone noticed any problems we need to know

yeah the gate 12 thing was bullshit

if you're going to usher students to two gates, make them JUST for students. i got to the front of the line finally and then realized i had to go through some fucking maze of chains to the right side of the gate instead.

yeah, I mean
the huge signs above the gates probably didn't help either

(note: we know the signs could have been misleading, but they were big, and they were above the gates to say students one side and general public on the other side)

I went to game at half time and they didn't have any scanner that time. They told me we will be penalized because we didnt' get scanned. After the game I went to look for manager to get it scanned but they were all gone. I saw whole lot of people leaving at the half time. They should be penalized more.

There was nothing on the website that they will remove the scanners at half time and penalize.

i had problems in section 14.....a shit ton of drunk ass sorority girls rolled up in the section late and were totally obnoxious and loud. They kept trying to cram into my row and a lot stood in the aisle between 13 and 14 for the longest time. A bunch of them broke out airplane bottles and mixed it in with their lemonade and kept making asses of themselves in front of my mom. They ended up leaving before halftime anyway. I was just so pissed that I saw no patrol in our section to keep order....not one person in yellow or in uniform made an appearance. I really wish there would be seat or row numbers on tickets to at least create some order.

^^^ Yeah, I went to get my ticket scanned at halftime cause it didn't scan right when I entered and I didn't want my friend (his name on the ticket) to get penalized for it. They sent me from gate 12 to gate 10A, where the woman told me that the scanners had just been taken away and they couldn't scan me.

GOOD

if you dont go in before halftime, fuck you. you're the kind of person the point system is trying to weed out.

now, leaving at halftime is a whole other matter. although, this game got ugly and monotonous really fast

Had no problem getting in about 45 minutes before the game, there was a pretty long line, but it moved quickly. Can't complain in the slightest about getting in.

However, I'd like to know if there is any way that you could add Gate 6 to the gates that can take student tickets. It's a fairly minor thing, but since most students seem come into the game from the Fairgrounds/Trinity areas and pass right by that gate, it seems like it'd be easier to send us there rather than having us snake around the stadium to get to 10A and 12. It's also a lot closer to sections 7, 8, and 113. It'd probably reduce congestion slightly.

Oh, and the counter for how many people are in a group is broken. It doesn't show a number anymore.

I do want to commend you though, everything was much smoother this time.

they still need to do something with the lines. they move fast but a lot of people where confused which way they went and where they started and stuff. when they start to get long they need some ushers out there or something.

Quote :

the problem was that the line curved around so a lot of people walked around the corner, saw a huge group of people and just wated in that line. from where that line started you couldn't really see the sign or the other line (of students) that went straight back from the gate.

I really wasn't too thrilled with the fact that people were cutting in line because they really didn't know where the line started.

And then you got the girls who "really needed to pee" (There must be hundreds of them) who were trying to cut right through. Shouldn't have drank all that beer...you can wait for 10-20 mins like the rest of us.

We had no problems and everything seemed to be fine in section 7 except for the stupid guys infront of us who were smoking like chimneys and blowing the smoke right at us...i think we had 3 event staff people walk right by them and not say a word....I thought Carter Finley was a non smoking area...especially in the stands.

and there will be more student ushers out there next game

and the thing w/ penalties....I'm done w/ dealing w/ everyone's little problems w/ that, so it's time Student Senate starts doing their appeals process:

File here if you want to appeal any penalty on your account:

i agree...we and a bunch of other people were in our seats at like 5:00 and after the game started people exactly like those mentioned above rolled up and started standing on our seats and trying to push people who were already there out

i eventually sat down (something i wouldn't normally do durning a game) just so i could assert my space...which was whack that i had to do, seeing as i had to pay 30 bones for a guest ticket...i hope the girl behind me enjoyed me repeatedly elbowing her til she finally left (probbaly to go talk some more on her cell phone)

please either get more ushers or assign seats...people's parents were totally getting robbed of a fun experience

making students enter through gate 10 is asinine. Students should enter at the murphy center. It would be much better for ticketing because people could get into the game earlier.

It's sad because the University has had no success in curbing drunkeness at the game, but they have increase hostility exponentially. The violence that occurred last season was a fluke. The violence that will occur this season will be the University's fault.

#1 Can someone tell me how many attendance points we should have if we went to both games?

I gave my ticket to a friend and was trying to see if they used it. It says I have 2 AttendancePoints (but I think I remember it saying that after the VT game). Also in the legend it says

Full Status 2
Partial Status 1

Was my ticket used? Or am I screwed for the rest of the season to 50%?

#2 I did a quick word search for "basketball" on all the pages of this thread, so I am sorry if this has been asked, but if we miss a football game and are penalized to 50% does that carry on into the basketball season?

it doesn't include bball season

You should have 2 points...you only lose them if you don't attend

and the gates aren't going to move people, so get off it! It's 6000 for each gate we add, and it's not going to happen!
gate six has way too many other people that come through it to close it off, campus safety thinks it's a safety hazard to have students there anyway, and we're not buying more hardware

plus, gates 10A and 12 have 4000 each, whereas every other gate in the stadium averages 5000

the student gates got peopel in faster than the other gates, so get off it

Campus safety is full of shit. Where was the problem for the last 50+ years when people could enter at any gate they like? Even the alumni are complaining. And cry be a fuckign river about having to buy new equipment. It's not our fault there isn't enough equipment, so don't penalize us.

I have still yet to understand why the students enter the stadium the farthest possible distance from their seats and where they tailgate.

I don't see the problem. It doesn't kill you to walk a little further. yeah it's a long ways but oh well. They could change it to where 2 of the closer gates are for students but then the people who have a lot more power than us would get mad. If you change either 10a or 12 to one of the front gates, that's just going to make it worse. Cause all of the students will go to the closer gate. Honestly how many over you would walk all the way around to 10a or 12 just because there's a line at the front gate? I would think that number is very small.

well, since I routinely sit w/ the highest donors of our univeristy, I can tell you from conversations last night that they don't give a shit where students enter at

but go ahead, complain and feel important, but the gates aren't going to move...it's that simple

complaining WILL NOT change that....it just makes the already disrespected student body look more lazy than they already are

that's a key
that's not how many you have

and parial means if you miss a game that you had a ticket for, your total goes down to "1" total point, and you're partial status, meaning your chances of winning tickets in the future are now 50%
