So my transmission (I assume so) is fucked. The car starts, but reverse doesn't work and forward slips and doesn't move the car forward either (just makes it jump frward eratically). It starts when I was trying to make a 3 pt turn, kicked it in reverse and I heard a pop/boom sound and then the engine just revving. I put it in park and then turned the car off and on again and now it is behaving like I described. It isn't moving anywhere under its own power.

What I wanna know is does anyone know anyone that can come look at it, tell me whats wrong, or know of any garages that will make road calls?

96 Monte Carlo z34
Complete with body damage, etc...

It is a chunk of shit, and I know it won't be worth the cost to fix it. However, my dad thinks otherwise and is urging me to look into getting estimates. Shit, even when it ran I'd not be able to sell it for more then 2k.

sounds like either the pump is blown up or the input shaft is stripped if it happened that quick with no signs of previous clutch/band slippage, so therefore even if you tore it down yourself, it wouldn't be cheap to fix, try calling junkyards and finding a used tranny, since a new or rebuilt one would be around 1-2k, but if it made a loud pop, it could be the cv joint, there a very slim chance you could get lucky. i had a friend that lost a cv joint once on a front wheel drive, he thought it was the tranny, but i went to look at it, ooped the hood, and saw the tranny side of the halfshaft spinning like crazy, and the wheel wasnt turning, so $60 later, he was back on the road. i might could look at it tomorrow afternoon sometime for you if it is in raleigh, but more than likely your transmission is fucked.

if the cv was broken how would that explain no reverse and jumping forward erratically

the joint catches a little, moves it forward and then pops out again, and the same for reverse, the way he describes it was almost verbatim what that car was doing, but as i said, thats a one in a thousand chance

Well, for the past while whenever I'd try to accelerate at quickly it would slip between first and second gears, so this wasn't "all of a sudden."

I'm fucked.
