haha yeah, i'm running some 255/40 R17 Fawlkin Azenis RT615's and they get too hot too fast but they do have great grip though.
i would take out on average 5-7 psi out of each tire after every session and never added air back into the tire until the weekend was done...and by the last 2 sessions i had it right where i wanted it to be. Started out cold at 32psi and came off track at around 40-44psi. Before that i'd come off track at around 50-55psi
so now i know what to put in my log book and where to start next time in those conditions.

I'm not sure your tire pressures matter nearly as much as you think they do 12/13/2006 2:03:02 PM |
Golovko All American 27023 Posts user info edit post |
well its tire temps that matter most...but i can't change that anymore than i have, the rest needs to be done with camber plates. I've gotten my left front tire to be very even as far as temp distribution but the front right and rear right get a lot hotter on the inside then they do on the outside of the tire and the rear left gets hotter on the outside of the tire then on the inside, granted this only applies to VIR but at the moment i can only change the tire pressure. 12/13/2006 2:06:50 PM |

Rollercoaster is turns 14 and 15, you get the point in 15, and take it before 16 (where you go a little wide haha) and then you take the left hander (16) into hogpen (the two right handers, 17 & 17a). 12/13/2006 2:12:17 PM |

haha, im sure you guys remember the proshop guy at VIR...
pressuring us to buy $200 equipment.
but ebay had some for cheaper than that, but still $$.
i might just get one of those temperature things you stick in meat or in boiling water to see the temp. that may work. lol 12/13/2006 2:47:47 PM |

unless you are reffering to the understeer then thats a different story...i'd need a stiffer rear and keep practicing my trail braking 12/13/2006 2:48:54 PM |
baonest All American 47902 Posts user info edit post |
well im mainly talking about the tire squeal. the only problem is that you cant really tell how you are doing out there if they are getting greasy and squealing every turn, no matter if it was a good turn or bad turn. 12/13/2006 2:54:38 PM |
Golovko All American 27023 Posts user info edit post |
its not too bad...i can still maintain my line and speed but with more effort. after the first half of the session is when the tire squeel gets really bad lol
i never had this problem with the advans except for the understeer but they didn't grip as much either 12/13/2006 2:56:15 PM |
