We all know that life isnt fair when it comes to classes sometimes. Post up professors that you have had in the past that you would recommend people stay away from while going through registration.

for me:
Greg Young- I had him for Bus 201 but i think he is teaching the new ethics class Bus 495B.
Davis - Bus 330, she is a good teacher but she expects waaaayyy too much

Bus 340 - Masemore, terrible teacher in a horribly boring class
Eng 101 - Kessler, very demanding, not very nice
Bus 330 - Davis

R.H. Young-ENG 262

he knows a ton about his subject, but he grades way too strict and expects you to know things about a topic only he would know. he graded me down on a paper b/c i used information from a university in australia, and apparently everyone knows that universities in australia have far lesser knowledge on early English literature than other ones, or something stupid like that.

Greg Young - Any BUS course...this guy is the biggest waste of breath ever, what a complete loser. Avoid at all costs.

Masemore - BUS 340. Most. Boring. Man. Still. Alive.

Davis - BUS 330, expects WAY too much work. Take "Barnes-Nelson", or just "Nelson" (got divorced I guess), she's good.

and I'm call this punk out right now:

BRIAN REICH - BUS 350, this guy is the biggest toolbag I have ever seen in my life. Refuses to teach his students, horrible at explaining, gets his OWN IN CLASS PROBLEMS INCORRECT and then laughs it off, refuses to listen to student criticism, just a total loser. Take ANYONE but him.

Halberstadt (psych) - she's psychotic, so far off to the hippie left that she can't even SEE the left anymore, and unless you suck up to her, she hates you

She is really good, really nice, doesn't expect an unreasonable amount of work.

Alright...

We got A Rabiei... She will tell you to do homework problems and examples as the solution for every problem. I took her for MAE 314. I got a U.

And we got Silverberg, got a U in his MAE 208 class. He cares about the students, i think, but I didn't learn anything from his class because he teaches material unrelated to like, the homework and requires that you get his book...

Two months into the semester, and not a single thread yet ('cept for this one) about what a bitch she is. She must be getting soft (perhaps she finally read her evaluations).

nice guy, not that hard of a class, but he was so boring i honestly felt sorry for him because so few people showed up for lectures. consider taking someone more interesting if possible.

Really? I don't know, i didn't really like his style of teaching; I prefer to have the book taught to me, that way I can reveiw what was said in class if my notes were bad that day. Couple that with the fact that there were four hundred of us in the Campus Cinema and he just sat at his desk and wrote on a giant projector, and it makes for a bad experience.

his personality isn't the greatest, but i definitely wouldn't recommend avoiding him. i had him for probability, and he just counted my final as the grade for the class because i showed improvement. from talking to other people in the class, you were alright as long as you did well during the year or did well on the final.

says the microbiology major
keen is a very smart man, but he talks way too fast and he could try giving out lecture slides before class if he's going to talk a million words a minute
if you're a micro major and are used to this material thats one thing, but if you're not you will not know what info is important to write down and you will spend the entire class scribbling down notes as fast as you can
and then eventually you'll give up taking notes at all bc you realize you have learned nothing bc all you have been doing is writing and haven't had time to listen

echekki and bahram in mae were both horrible
they're nice and they curve
but i didn't learn anything (which is really hurting me right now as i study for the FE)

no way.....Silverstein was awesome. I mean, the grading is kinda tough, but what the hell, right? doing the homework for him is key. Basically, if your grade is good relative to everybody else's you'll get a good grade. It's kinda hard to get use to the grading in his class.

Silverstein was NOT awesome to me. I had him 4 years ago and back then he was horrible. Maybe he changed since then but that was the worst class I've ever had at State.

^^ Agreed. Silverstien was an average teacher, but he was aweful to his students. He was verbally abusive, condensending, and beligerent. If you asked questions in his call, he wouldn't answer them. Instead, he'd spend ten minuets telling you and everyone else in the class how stupid you all were.

^^I gotta disagree with Jon Phillips. I had him for are 201 and I loved it. he was really cool guy and the class wasn't too hard either. maybe he's changed his ways since I had him though...

He did know his stuff, and he did grade strictly but I really enjoy his class. I ended up with a C I think which worse than I do in most courses. I think his course, if you started it credit only, could be really enjoyable because of the subject matter, because he knows his stuff, and because you wouldnt have to worry about the grade so much.
