I have ECE 200L and ECE 206L 20 mins apart. What you think?

shouldn't be a problem... as long as they're on the same campus they'll be either within the same bldg, or one apart (I don't know if they'll be moving the 200 lab over to Centennial over Christmas break, or not?) But as long as they both stay in Daniels you'll be fine. If you read the lab before had and have a firm grasp on the material being covered, the 200 labs can often be done in less time than the allotted lab period.

both of them are horrendous and i would NOT recommend it. if you are going to, take snacks and make sure you're well rested. my brain was fried at the end of either one of those, i cant imagine 2 in a row.

hehe - while i agree that you may want to take a snack or an mp3 player so you can tune out for your mini-break in between - i also agree that most 200 labs don't take the whole time, so it should be ok.

actually for 206 i don't really remember...i'm a TA for the distance ed 200 & 206 for lenoir community college, and we don't have a set 206 lab...it's just "i'll stay after the 200 lab time if you guys need 206 help" and there are the three lab assignments that they get a couple weeks each to work on. i know ours right now (being distance ed) is a different situation, but i don't really remember GOING to 206 lab every week...i may be wrong though i tend to mentally block most of the actual goings-on of a semester after it's over. it's a miracle i remember the material!

200 lab sucks ass, 206 isn't bad at all. I am not sure why people are saying 206L was bad at all.

All of the projects roo 206, ie lab stuff, can be done ahead of the lab and all you have to do is walk in and submit your code. Lab was more of a help session on why your code wasn't working. I only stayed for one lab the entire semester.

^ i seem to recall having to be in 206 lab a lot to build things on breadboards
later on in the class when you just have c/asm programs you dont really need to do it in lab tho

200 labs should not take you more than 30-60 mins to do so you will have a break if you have that one scheduled first.

^^that sir is not true, unless you are taking a different 200 than the one i took

on a serious note, 206labs aren't even mandatory, at least not when i took them, you can just go for help or to get your stuff graded, we have like 4 labs all semester, this was like 2 or 3 years ago though

Yeah... like these people have said... after the first two labs, 206 lab is not mandatory attendance. (Although many people think they can complete the assignment, and the day it's due figure out they really could have used the help available-- using the TAs help just makes your life less stressful I found for 206 for the programs *although it seems they have changed some of them to make them less taxing this semester*) Like I said earlier, you should have longer than 20 min every week... and it really shouldn't be a problem unless you do hands-on stuff very slowly. Personally, I think it would be nice to get both labs out of the way on the same day... just make sure you're not trying to write the 200 lab report and do the 206 assignment all in the same night. Good Luck

thats a good point - i did all the 206 labs right before they were due (um...breadboards? no...that's 212) and i always procrastinated on the 200 reports...you don't wanna do that if they're both due the same day

206 labs are no sweat. 200's lab reports are a real bitch though. Have fun with those.

That lab changed a lot, I think semester of Spring '04. It was three labs (bin, asm,c) in Fall '03. They added some so you actually did something the first month of the semester.
