For the past week or so, I've seen several cats running around outside my window and I feel bad for them because I can only imagine that they've been abandonded. The one I'm looking at right now is a mixture of black and brown, doesn't have a collar, and is wet from the rain. So... I'm trying to find out why there have been cats wandering around all of a sudden, and if they are/were owned, I'm requesting that the owners actually take care of them.

If they're still wet - toss them in the dryer - they love that (don't forget a fabric softener sheet).

well, you have to trap them.

Find a young sapling and bend it over, make a loop in a rope and lay it on teh ground, attach the other end to the top of the bent over tree. then set a catch to release if when something walks into the loop.

then take erudites advice. cats hate being wet.

all you need is a trap, some cat food, and a trashcan full of water

I have a dog and I defy you to find a better home than the one he has right now.

You do not know me or how I treat animals. What I posted was clearly parody and not to be taken seriously.

Take them in... then put up signs in the neighborhood & if they are someone's pets they will contact you. If you are not up for taking them in at least leave them some food. Who knows the poor babies could be starving. Weird that lots just showed up. Hopefully they are spayed/neutered & not making more babies!

I wouldn't mind having a cat, but the apartments don't allow it and I'm in no position in life to have a pet because I wouldn't be able to care for it properly. I'm not putting food out because I don't want them to come begging at my door, either.

UC does nto give a damn, as long as you dont rub the cat in the face of the landlord or the guy who changes the ac filters, you are fine.

I'm a cat lover. My girlfriend has two that I love very much.
While I like to feed cats, play with cats, yada, yada, yada, you have to remember that cats are the best at surviving on their own out of any animal humans commonly hvae as pets.

Quit worrying. if you feel bad, feed them. Better yet, trap them then have them spayed/neutered.
