reality is that your pitching staff gave up a MLB record for most HR in an inning to the Brewers today

if you lose 11-0 to Milwaukee, you are eliminated from postseason discussions

3rd in the majors in ERA, 2 shutouts, 4/4 save opportunites, 4th fewest hits allowed, 5th fewest HR allowed

but if the season ended today (10-7), they'd be golfing

speaking of Cards v. White Sox in the world series...

Thome would have 5 HR, Paulie would have 4 and Albert would have 10

Give me Mex and his unbiased color anyday of the week.. Hawk needs to choke on a sword.

[Edited on April 22, 2006 at 11:26 PM. Reason : Mex = Keith Hernandez for the stupid..]

so by back in the day you mean a hundred years ago

I'd say we're more like the As - dominating in the 70s, a title in the 80s, and a lot of hope with nothing to show for it since then

Shitty fans too from what I hear.

I'm going to 4 new stadiums in July. Dodgers, Petco, SBC, and Oakland.. the old marathon..

I think the LAAAAAAAofAAAAA are out of town the entire time I'll be out there but I'll get there if they are in town considering my sister lives 1/8 mile away from it..

his retarded sayings make you sick? what kind of pussy gets sick from some homer's sayings?

I care more about ken harrelson than I do about the new york mets. you and your team will always be second fiddle to the yankees. your stadium is an outright joke. gg to your team for finally trying to make a statement with their team this year; it's inevitable that they will finish a few games out. as much as I think ken harrelson is a dick for ruining the white sox of the 80's I still think he's more significant than your joke of a team that needs a guy like buckner to exist in order to win.

Me? I've never been to Detroit.

My list right now includes Shea, Yankee, Fenway, RFK, The Vet, 3 Rivers, Turner, Fulton County, Dolphins, Camden Yards, Jacobs...

This year I'll add the 4 (or 5) in Cali and when I move to Philly I have to assume I'll get to Citizens Bank this year...

^ they'll always be second fiddle? I suggest you go ahead and check out the 14 straight years from 1981-1994 that the Mets outdrew the Yankees before you claim something like that champ.. If you had any clue on the NY baseball landscape you'd find that control of that town is cyclical... It's kind of funny how that 'joke of a team' that is the Mets has been FAR FAR more succesful in their existence then your beloved Sox have been in that same time.. that much is undisputable..

saw about 10 stadiums that year

yes, the nyy management could not have given a shit about their team during that period. "always" was the wrong word. "[will] almost always" fits better.

and, for the record, I'd rather root for a historic team rather than some redheaded stepchild of a team that is the new york mets.

see how I did that without editing my post?

In the Mets existence they have outdrawn the Yankees in exactly 50% of the seasons.. The Yanks will draw 4 million this year and the Mets likely between 3 and 3.5 million.. so they will have one season less outdrawing the Yanks after 2006..

You get so defensive about the Sox it cracks me up (just as I do w/ the Mets I'm sure).. I only do it to troll/flame Kruk, who I've known for like 7 years now..

I'm not so much defensive as I'm just making sure to break your balls as a Mets fan every time you make an anti-Sox statement. All this despite the fact that I was born in Buffalo and played on the Mets as a little leaguer. Ha ha.
