what objects can a pitcher throw faster than a baseball
i was thinking that like if a pitcher threw an orange how fast it would be then it got me to thinking of what objects are faster than a baseball
i would think a tennisball would be thrown fast as shit cause its lighter 4/29/2006 9:24:59 PM |

Maybe the instant it leaves his hand, but by the time it gets to home, it will have slowed down a lot more than the baseball.
Hell, beach balls are lighter. So are shuttlecocks. But that doesn't guarantee anything about throwing speed.
Lighter objects would probably allow him to move his arm faster. But light, big objects (like tennis balls) will decelerate much more quickly than heavy objects. Maybe a light, small object would allow him to move his arm faster and retain its speed all the way to home. (such as Probasesteal's golf ball)4/29/2006 11:50:15 PM |

the instant it leaves his hand its moving the same speed as his hand
i don't think a difference of a few ounces is going to make a big difference in initial velocity 4/29/2006 11:53:10 PM |

Think about a batter getting hold of a 100 mph bouncy ball
That would be like 1,000 ft. home run. 4/30/2006 9:08:08 AM |

that'd have to be a big bouncy ball, you couldnt get a good grip on a small one
i bet he could throw a kiwi at about 110 mph, which is about 10 mph faster than a good fastball 4/30/2006 10:28:01 AM |
