There a few in my apartment and I don't know how to get rid of them. There's no food or anything sitting out, so I dunno what the hell they're feeding off of where they're reproducing. Is there some trap or fly-paper kinda stuff I can use to get rid of them?

make sure you dont have any smaller trashcans with stuff that have been sitting around for weeks/months (ie small trashcans in your room or the bathroom).

make sure you dont have a bunch of beer/wine bottles sitting around in your room or the kitchen. having microbrewery bottles sitting around is cliche, doesnt impress anyone, and only adds to the smell/insect problems.

yeah, i initially found them focused on my trash can a few days ago, and promptly took it out. there are a few that are lingering though. unless they're going after little pieces of food down in the disposal (which i may run bleach through to make sure) i dunno what they're feeding on

once you get rid of whatever they were eating they should die off after a week or so... they have a very short life span.

awesome.

my roommate comes back from a project in like a week and a half so i'm gonna have to keep things spic n span!!!

(coworkers loved the golf thing - couldn't believe they actually built the platform from scratch rather than using pallates though)

dude, i have - like BobbyDigital said, those fuckers are persistent. i run hot water every time i see them near the sink, but they don't just sit there and wait for it - as soon as i get near them they're all airborne.

take a 2L bottle, cut off the top, put 2 cups of water in, a few tablespoons of vinegar, a couple tablespoons of sugar (exact measuring not important), then a few drops of dish detergent........it solved our problem when we had fruit flies. leave it out for a few days at a time before changing it out because it takes the flies a while to get really interested in it

Get a little glass jar, put a spoonful of jelly in it, and then make a little cone of paper or wax paper or something leading down into the jar, that's rolled up to have a wee little hole in the bottom, and tape the cone to the brim. They'll detect the jelly and crawl down into the jar, but then they won't be able to find the hole again to get out.

^,^^^ thanks guys, that's what i was looking for. when you do the 2L bottle thing do they just get trapped in the viscosity of the liquid, or what?
