Dead Air Space has a new update titled "Mixing It"

Probably looking at a release late this year. I'll be interested to see how exactly this album is released. Can't wait to hear the studio "Videotape" and "Arpeggi."

I was there but I still like the old version of Nude with the organ better

All I Need is really awesome as well, maybe my favorite new one:

I have high quality (sound board) copies of all the new ones, and have had them since last summer.

I drove up to Philly to see them at the Tower Theater---- had to pay $200 for a fucking ticket, but it was in a 4,000 seat venue and well worth the 6 hour trip from Raleigh to Philly.

If anyone else wants these versions, go here:

http://lders.nl/

Scroll thru the shows on the left, the songs that appear "highlighted" can be downloaded. I have found that the songs from the Amsterdam show tend to have the highest quality.

This could be the best year for music in recent memory.

New Albums by: The Shins, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Andrew Bird, Polyphonic Spree, Ryan Adams, Interpol, Smashing Pumpkins, Animal Collective, The New Pornographers, etc etc

On top of all that... new Radiohead. Wow.

I've been wearing out all of the live tracks of the songs that may appear on LP7. I can't wait.

Really though, great year for music, and it's only June.

I, strangely, haven't been able to get into Animal Collective too much (other than Sung Tongs), but the new Panda Bear is solid.

I meant to mention that recrd as well as The High Llamas and a few mothers. It took a LONG time for Person Pitch to click with me, however.

Oh.. and I think I left the White STripes out too. Damn

haha---I don't think I recognized a single song other than "Down is the New Up" and "Bangers and Mash".

I'm going to be so pissed if "Videotape" and "House of Cards" don't make LP 7, OR if they end up horrendously fucking them up the way they did "Knives Out" when it came out on Amnesiac.

Here are the tracks so far with alternate titles in parentheses---- no order

Open Pick (wish away the nightmare)
Bodysnatchers (i see them coming)
Pig's Ear (you got away)
Down Is The New Up (crawled off and left us)
Burn The Witch (this a low flying panic attack)
4 Minute Warning (friendly reminder)
Spooks
Nude (big ideas)
Arpeggi (bottom of the deep)
15 Step (cut the string)
All I Need (it's all wrong. it's all right)
Videotape (what have i done?)
House of Cards (denial)

yeah this year is already better than 2006 in my opinion

Wir sind Helden, LCD Soundsystem, Arctic Monkeys, Blonde Redhead, and Earthless have all released awesome new albums, and Battles debut is hot shit.

Almost too much good music to process

A solo piano version, from the studio, of Thom doing "down is the new up". This song has a sick guitar riff when performed live. Much different, but either version is ace.

yeah, these are not the finals --- these are just tracks that have been played thus far, are likely to make the album and the alternate titles for each song. I believe I've heard them all except "Pig's Ear".

^ I can't help it, damnit. This album is gonna kill.

Good stuff from Rolling Stone. In their "decoded" version, "All I Need" sounds like it belongs on Kid A, which makes me totally happy. You can actually hear violins! (which were sorely missing on Hail to the Theif).

I can also make out Arpeggi near the end of the first clip.

^ from the article....

Quote :
"There’s also some audio that’s played backwards, a studio trick Radiohead have used in the past on songs like “Spinning Plates.”"

Oh, god.... please don't. Am I the only one that liked the live, stripped down version of "Spinning Plates" more so than the studio version?

^ I like both.... but I don't think the article is implying that they will use the backwards audio on the album. I think Nigel just did that for effect for these snippets. That's why Rolling Stone "decoded" the snippets. The backwards clips are now forwards.

Here's the setlist from when I saw them in Philly last summer. Of the times I've seen Radiohead, this one was by far the best. (It didn't hurt that it was in the Tower Theatre, which is tiny for a band of their stature).

I was able to hear a lot of the new material at this show, which has made this last year + of waiting for LP7 that much more difficult.

Here it is, all the new songs bolded:

June 2nd, 2006 Tower Theatre, Upper Darby, PA
01 There There
02 Lucky
03 15 Step
04 Arpeggi
05 Kid A
06 Dollars And Cents
07 The National Anthem
08 Nude
09 Go Slowly --- only a maybe for LP7, so I didn't include it in the earlier list
10 Paranoid Android
11 Spooks
12 The Gloaming
13 Bodysnatchers
14 4 Minute Warning
15 The Bends
16 Everything In It's Right Place
17 How To Disappear Completely

Encore 1:

18 I Might Be Wrong
19 House Of Cards
20 Black Star
21 Let Down

Encore 2:
22 Idioteque

all of the live versions of these new tunes can be downloaded here: http://lders.nl --- I believe I posted this one earlier. Try to get the Amsterdam shows, as they tend to be the best sound quality.

from atease.com

Quote :
"The band’s PR confirmed to us that they have finished recording the follow-up to 2003’s Hail To The Thief, but added: “It isn’t out until 2008.” No news was given for the delay, but it’s believed the band want to iron out a new record deal before its release, and to give time for their next record company to market the album."

I haven't been over to atease in a while (or at least to the regular Radiohead boards... usually visit the off topic stuff), but, I've been meaning to check up on the nasty rumor I've been hearing that they're completely done with touring. (for eco-friendly concerns).

i would say that's probably bunk just because their creative process always involves playing shows to work out new material.

Seems that way, sarijoul--- of course, all this material on LP7 was already worked through in 2006 on their tour of small venues.

Also, when I say "no touring", I meant the rumor said no more North American/Worldwide tours. They would limit themselves to playing venues in Europe where they can travel in more environmentally friendly manner.

I definitely don't want to believe that I'll never see them live again. They're amazing to see.

but any band who is delaying the release of an album due to marketing concerns, probably won't stop touring any time soon

well ever since they finished their deal with capitol, they've been saying future records would be released by the band themselves

they were even thinking of just doing a bunch of EPs instead of one big LP

but according to the post above, they're waiting to sign to a label so the album can be properly marketed

which i would call marketing concerns
