So, they're supposed to announce the first set of bands today. I keep checking their website and nothing shows up (I'm guessing 96 Rock is supposed to??). Either way, it was fun as hell last year.

Post here if you hear anything on the radio...

Concert Dates:

June 2
June 16
June 30
July 14
July 28
Aug 11
Aug 25

Awesome.

I love seeing bands that disappeared circa 1996 after their only top 100 song fell off.

I called about this today. They said the schedule release is going to be delayed due to some problems with one of the bands.

Oh shit.

I'd see the first three for a giggle, though Tal Bachmann only so I could constantly compare him to his dad.

Ahaha, even better!

Every once in a while, a very good band who happened to have a hit somewhere along the way plays one of these things, and it's always a good time. Everyone came to see Violent Femmes play "Blister in the Sun," but hearing "Country Death Song" and "American Music" kept me happy for about three weeks.

Yeah, that put a smile on my face as well. Even better though was seeing them and the Avett Brothers for free in Greensboro. That was a sweet show.

that PUSA show was terrible

i am sure the bands playing this year will be even worse than last. Deep South Entertainment is in charge, they are just awful

Last summer's wasn't too bad at all. Spin Doctors, Candlebox, Gin Blossoms, Blue October, were some I saw. But you get what you pay for....

candlebox was on my birthday and the damn thing started so early that i missed like half the show. by the time we got there we were like 10 miles from the stage

that weekend i went to myrtle beach and randomly my old roomate had free tickets to see them at House of blues.

What a save.

Guys, it's FREE. For a free concert, that's a pretty cool lineup. Like somebody said before, you get what you pay for. Want a bigger act? Pay some money and see somebody who's on a "real" tour.

Everclear alone makes this series worth it (Soul Asylum I want to definitely see too). And the pure hilarity of some of the other ones will get me out there. If any of you guys have been to these you'll know the bands aren't the draw, the homeless people dancing is the real entertainment.

i was reading his wikipedia and apparently in 2005 he filed for bankruptcy because of ~$2.5 million in unpaid taxes. i'm assuming that's why he's doing this shit.
