I'll be up there for the next few weekends....i got a place right above crumpler on the the river right before the VA state line. We always go up there and get drunk for a few weeks at the end of June. Good times up there.

If you guys are worth a shit at disc golf (or hell, even if you're not worth a shit -- i guarantee you we have worse players come out every week), swing by the Ashe course at 5:15 every Thursday. $5 entry, $1 for the ace pool, random draw doubles. First round short tees with alt 8 and 9. Second round long pads with drop zone 3 and short regular 8 and 9. Ace pool rolls over to the next week, all entry money gets paid back out to the top couple of teams.

I moved back to Ashe after graduating. Its starting to be pretty well known which sucks for me since real estate has sky-rocketed. If you like hiking you should take a trip up the Bluff pretty close to downtown West Jefferson.

Thanks. The easiest way to get there from West Jefferson is to follow Buck Moutain which is a left just after the Jeep dealership in downtown. If you follow that to the end where it meets Bald Moutain rd you will see the Bluff straight in front of you. You won't be able to miss it. You should be able to see the waterfall from there too. In order to hike it you are supposed to contact someone in the county but I never have. If you won't the easiest way up it turn left on Bald mtn rd from buck mtn rd and follow the gravel rd to its end. You will see red gates on the right. Park your car off the road somewhere around there, cross the red gates and follow the old logging rd to the top. You can also find the creek that is feed from the waterfall and follow it up to the base of the fall. Its pretty close to the intersection of buck mtn and bald mtn.

I've been up in crumpler like 5 of the last 6 weekends...i was wondering if anyone else was up there. It' actually right outside grassy creek but the address is still crumpler. I just got back sunday from 10 straight days up there. I love going up there and doing nothing but drink beer and kick it next to the river. Oh and eating at Shatley for breakfast.....could be the greatest thing in the world.
