^dont get me wrong, im not 100% over there. im ALL FOR welfare programs for people who NEED it. mainly CHILDREN who cant help it. and instead of stuff like stimulus packages, i'd love to see the government do savings matching on people who are now on welfare. if you can get a job, turn it around, and start saving, uncle sam will match anything from your paycheck that goes into savings and stays there for a full tax year.

This shit is so incredibly ignorant that I had to show the 2 people still awake in my apartment. We appreciate the laugh. Do you remember in 2001 when Ireland began their 5 year, government sponsored, savings plan? To summarize, people were able to save about 10% of the countrie's GDP. As a result, when the savings were released inflation went crazy. This was from 1.1 million savers.

Now for us. 5 million, or slightly more than 1.5% receive some sorta of cash benefit from the government. Yes a lot is Medicaid. Anyway, about 5% of the US GDP is spent on means tested welfare. Your system would have the potential to drive that figure up closer to the 6.5% range. Imagine that purchasing power unleashed all at one time.

What you are angry about is 16% of federal, state, and local taxes you pay goes to welfare. Where should it go instead? A new sports stadium? New roads to help increase the 36 person/day rate that people move into Raleigh and deplete the mismanaged water infrastructure? How about paying for wireless internet throughout the whole city so that you can get your post count to 200k quicker. That is what I want to pay for.

My point is don't be an asshole. Yeah people abuse the system. People abuse EVERY system. Shut the hell up, pay your money, and think about the million or so hungry children that are quietly being fed instead of the thousand loud idiots who brag about sticking it to the man.
