FRIEND reported her missing around 2:15 saturday but husband said she was supposed to be home by 9am and didn't report her??? police say they don't know why (he wasn't the one to report based on his statement). but apparently its still just a "missing person" investigation

Well, she was supposed to meet friends around that time is what the original article said. So he may have thought she was still out with friends. And the friends, since she was due to meet them, ended up being the ones to miss her.

article said she was supposed to meet friends at 215?? and didn't come home at 9 "AS PLANNED". like i mean husband told police she was supposed to return home at 9am. and then the friends reported her after she didn't show at 2:15. or is that wrong? did the orig article say she was supposed to meet up w/ friends at 9?

the husband also admitted that they were having "marital issues."

friends said they hadn't seen her since the night before. not saying the husband is guilty but no one said they saw her that morning when she went out running. could be that possibly she never went running at all.

just saaaaayin

ps - i'm sorry but if my spouse told me they were going out running and didn't show up i would get worried. i'm sure the neighbors called the husband to say, "hey where's your wife...she's supposed to be meeting us." and i would think if she was training for a marathon, after a run, she would want to come home and shower, change, etc. it's july....you definitely can bust a sweat at 7am

i hope they find her alive and well too. it's really sad to see this when this woman who has 2 young girls is missing. plus, they lived in a safe area. i know it doesn't mean you let your guard down but how often do we hear reports of issues going on in that area?

they lived in a really safe area and their daughters are really cute

i hope they find her alive but i think its so sketchy that she went running in the morning and her friends reported her missing at 2:15. even if she was supposed to meet friends "later that morning" the husband said she was supposed to come home around 9. and meet friends later that morning. granted, her plans could have changed but i mean by early afternoon i'd kinda be wondering like, wtf where is she. they're going to talk about it on the news soon but i'm sure nothing has changed.

i don't think she was having an affair. her friends were showing way too much support, so i think she was a legit wife, i dunno why this makes me think so, but it just does.

well they do look for missing people on the routine and also i think there's like a headquarters or something in raleigh for the NC one so...it probably wasn't a huge inconvenience.

i don't know a lot about them though. i do know that i always hear of them being involved w/ looking for people (like hikers and stuff that have gone missing)

"Body found in Wake County
Nancy Cooper

Posted: 35 minutes ago
Updated: 6 minutes ago

Cary, N.C. — A body was found Monday evening in Wake County, and police said they were looking into the possibility that it was the body of a missing Cary woman.

At about 7:30 p.m., a man walking his dog reported seeing a person floating in a pond near Holly Springs Road and Fielding Drive.

That location is not far from where a mother of two reportedly went missing from.

Jessica Adams, a friend of Nancy Cooper, reported her missing at 2:15 p.m. when she failed to show up for a visit, police said at a news conference Monday evening.

Brad Cooper told police his 34-year-old wife went out for a jog around 7 a.m. Saturday but did not return by 9 a.m. as planned.

When asked why Brad Cooper had not called police about his wife, Cary police Chief Pat Bazemore said, "We don't know why the husband didn't report her missing."

Police sent the woman's body found Monday evening to the state medical examiner in Chapel Hill for identification.

Police described Cooper as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair that goes just past her shoulders. She was last seen wearing a T-shirt, running shorts and light blue running shoes.

Bazemore said that Brad Cooper was being cooperative and had agreed to let the police search the couple's house and cars. She confirmed that he had told police that they were experiencing marital problems.

Brad Cooper made his first public statement at an evening news conference, but did not answer any questions. He thanked all the volunteers and said he hopes anyone with information would come forward.

Cooper's father, mother and identical twin sister traveled from Canada to assist in the search.

"We have been here today to help find Nancy," Cooper's father, Garry Rentz said. "We believe she will be brought home soon. And we thank the community for the support that they've given and ask they continue in their effort to find our daughter."

About 200 people joined search parties that covered the areas of Lochmere Lake and Regency Park, which were believed to be routes Cooper regularly jogs. They also posted more than 2,000 fliers.

"The police have asked us to look a little bit further off the trail," search organizer Mike Morwick said Monday. "Yesterday, we covered every trail in the Lochmere Regency area. We're just going further, we're looking further into the brush to see if there's anything that might raise suspicion.""

"Body found in area of jogger search

BY KRISTIN BUTLER, Staff Writer
Comment on this story
CARY - A body has been found in a pond that police believe may be the missing Cary jogger, Nancy Cooper.
Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore, at a news conference tonight, said a man was walking his dog about 7:30 p.m. near a pond on Fielding Drive when he discovered the body of a woman. Authorities have not confirmed that it is Cooper, but police say they think it may be because of the proximity to where she was last seen.

Her husband, Brad Cooper, told investigators he last saw his wife when she left home at 7 a.m. Saturday for a jog. Nancy Cooper, 34, was reported missing at 2:51 p.m. Saturday by a friend, Jessica Adam, according to Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore.

The volunteer searchers, along with 32 police officers who have been working around the clock, searched the trails around Lake Wheeler and Lake Johnson today, Bazemore said. During the weekend, the search focused on trails and woods in and near the Regency and Lochmere neighborhoods of Cary. The Coopers live in Lochmere with their two daughters, ages 4 and almost 2.

Adam said that Cooper was supposed to join her Saturday morning at Adam’s house to help paint her dining room. The friends had made a deal: Cooper was going to help her paint; and then Adam was going to help Cooper organize her house. Both were runners, training to participate in the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon on Aug. 31 in Virginia Beach, Va.

When Cooper didn’t show up, Adam called Brad Cooper. She said he told her that his wife had gone for a run with a friend, but he wasn’t sure which friend. Adam said he later called to say he thought the friend was someone named Carrie, and wanted to know whether Adam knew how to contact Carrie.

Adam knew someone by that name, but said she didn’t know the woman’s last name and did not have her phone number. Cooper said he was going to continue looking for Carrie’s phone number and hung up, Adam said.

Adam said she felt that something had gone wrong and called police.

Cary police said today that Brad Cooper was cooperating with them, answering questions and allowing them to search his house and cars. About 3:45 p.m., police searched the couple’s BMW sedan and BMW SUV. They also removed a Louis Vuitton purse from one of the vehicles.

Brad Cooper said Monday in an interview in the driveway of the couple’s Wallsburg Court home that the couple was having marital problems, but not to the point he felt his wife would leave him and their two children. Adam said the two children stayed at her house Monday.

Brad Cooper works at Cisco Systems while Nancy Cooper stayed at home with their children.

Cooper’s parents, Donna and Garry Rentz of Edmonton, Alberta, and her identical twin sister, Khrista Lister, of Toronto arrived Monday morning.

Reading from a statement earlier in the day, Garry Rentz the family was “overwhelmed” by the support of Cary residents. Bazemore said the degree of community interest and involvement in the search for Cooper was unprecedented.

Nancy Cooper had attended a party with friends Friday night at neighbor Diana Duncan’s home. Duncan described the event as a cocktail party, but “very casual, sort of a normal Friday-night summer thing.” She said Nancy Cooper looked tired and said she had not been feeling well."

i was under the assumption that someone over 18 had to be missing for 24 hours to be considered missing by the police. she was reported missing at 215 on the same day. and that seems strange within itself.

"Cary, N.C. — Family and friends of a missing Cary woman are awaiting autopsy results of a female body that was found Monday evening in Wake County.

The body was sent to the state medical examiner in Chapel Hill. As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, officials were not able to conclude if it was Nancy Cooper, whose husband reported that she went running Saturday morning and never returned.

The examiner will rely upon medical reports to try to identify the body. Authorities would not say what the deceased woman was wearing. The death is considered to be an isolated case.

The body was found lying on the bank of a storm water pond near a cul-de-sac that has been cut in preparation for a new subdivision, Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said.

“It is just a typical subdivision, with a lot of streets cut and cul-de-sacs cut, under construction. I don’t even think there is a house down this particular cul-de-sac,” Harrison added.

Cary police initially had said that a man who found the body while walking his dog had spotted it in a pond. The body was near Holly Springs Road and Fielding Drive, outside Cary city limits in the area of Lochmere.

That is not far from where the mother of two reportedly went missing.

“We’re not making any assumptions that this is Nancy, but we are working with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office to identify the body,” said Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore. “It is a sad and difficult time for all of us. Our hearts are with Mrs. Cooper’s family and close friends during this very trying time.”

Jessica Adams, a friend of Nancy Cooper, reported her missing at 2:15 p.m. Saturday when she failed to show up for a visit, police said at a news conference Monday evening.

Brad Cooper told police his 34-year-old wife went out for a jog around 7 a.m. Saturday but did not return by 9 a.m. as planned.

When asked why Brad Cooper had not called police about his wife, Bazemore said, "We don't know why the husband didn't report her missing."

Police sent the woman's body found Monday evening to the state medical examiner in Chapel Hill for identification.

"We have an unidentified female body and we are working very closely with Cary and tomorrow (Tuesday) morning they will find out from the autopsy, the cause of death and who this person is," Harrison said.

"I never understood there to be anything in terms of a physical threat, but a tense marriage. No, I didn't have any specific reason other than just concern for my friend,” Adams said of reporting her friend missing.

Brad Cooper made his first public statement at an evening news conference, but did not answer any questions. He thanked all the volunteers and said he hopes anyone with information would come forward.

"I want to thank all the hundreds of volunteers who came out and are continuing to come and if anyone knows anything, I would like them to contact the police with any information they may have,” Brad Cooper said.

About 200 people have joined search parties that covered the areas of Lochmere Lake and Regency Park, which were believed to be routes Cooper regularly jogs. They also posted more than 2,000 fliers.

"The police have asked us to look a little bit further off the trail," search organizer Mike Morwick said Monday. "Yesterday, we covered every trail in the Lochmere Regency area. We're just going further, we're looking further into the brush to see if there's anything that might raise suspicion."

it's about what we relate to

we don't really care about gang hits and drive by by minorities, except perhaps to shake our head for any number of reasons, because we do not relate

most of us can relate to someone jogging... or marital issues... or whatever

they are "like us"... that's why it's news

welcome to the whole frick'n world 101

it's not really because they are "white"

them being white has to do with the homogeneity and general separation of lifestyles with respect to race

i want you to google "black joggers" and see what you come up with
