Ok, I'm definitely going. Two friends on the bandwagon now, with a possible third.

I'm gonna get my ticket this week

Toubab Krewe is great, a unique instrumental group with an eclectic set of instruments. They lay it down every time I've seen them

http://www.toubabkrewe.com/

Big Fat Gap / No Strings Attached - both good bluegrass bands

Holy Ghost Tent Revival is good jam / swing / ska type band with a good horn section

Thacker Dairy Rd is good as well

It's very laid back out there....if you really hate bluegrass, it's probably not where you want to be, but most of the bands that play have something interesting to offer. A good chunk of the bands aren't the style of music I listen to on a regular basis, but they're good musicians and I still had a great time when I went in the spring.

This is true, but there are plenty of people who will be out earlier in the week to stake out a prime camping spot....they just don't want anyone coming to stay and camp before Thursday (out of towners, etc.)

Justin Townes Earle was supposed to play, too.

if so, he and Holy Ghost Tent Revival alone are worth the ticket price.

and I wouldn't even remotely consider them ska. If I had to pick from 6 genres, that would not be included.

I'm getting ancy.....

^^^Ok so Holy Ghost Tent Revival is not ska, as I described them in October for lack of a better genre, but they don't really fit inside any genre I don't think....the accents on the upbeat and the trombone is a bit ska-like at times but they have sort of an old ragtime / roots music / feel but with tons of energy. Either way, great band and will be one of the highlights of the weekend. How would you describe them WillumJole?
