Vinyl -

I have the choice between watching Swamp Thing, Toxic Avenger, or Army of Darkness

Which should I choose, and why? Compare and Contrast the movies in your answer.

Sound and the Fury and Absalom, Absalom! I know, I know, nothing outside the typical Faulkner reading. I mean, I like stream-of-consciousness, but Benjy's rambling is practically unreadable. I mean, I know he's retarded, but if Faulkner wants to tell me something through a retard, I want to have some understanding.

^ That's why you read the rest of the book. The whole picture is essentially there in the Benjy section, and the rest of the book is a rosetta stone for the opening.

^^ Toxic Avenger. Because I said so.

that kermit thing is pretty great, although that pic from a christmas carol is robin, not kermit

i really like "that evening sun," because it includes my single favorite description of a sound in literature

Whichever one is taught by Devin Orgeron.

Not yet.

The Shawshank Redemption, Dr. Strangelove, Forrest Gump

- I enjoyed ATDI from time to time.

^^ Does not compute.

^ Never read any.

^^ Sorry, missed it. Terror Firmer.

^ Eventually I'd like to see a film of The Dark Knight Returns, but I think it might be impossible to do it right.

my favorite film term is "snorri-cam"...it's a body-mounted steadicam system that was used in requiem for a dream among other things

my favorite musical term is portamento, the labelling that's on monophonic synthesizers to control the speed of glissandos

my favorite band of all time is the pixies...but sometimes it's pavement

If you can answer this i'll be fuckin surprised

Quote :
"Subject : Do you know the name of this book
This boy has a crazy father who invents things. They travel to some third world country and he builds a giant ice machine. He makes the boy dig a hole that does nothing. The father is convinced the apocalypse happened at one point in the book and makes them sail down a river to look for food. The father ends up dying and a bird plucks out his tongue at the end of the book. The title might have something to do with a storm. "

i figured out what it was but i couldn't find anyone else who knew the name of it.

Your opinion on The Little Prince?

Are you attending any of the films for the NCMoA fall film series homage to film noir?

in most cases, yes

however, post-punk is an excellent way to keep things that aren't really new wave away from being called new wave, so the prefixes do serve a purpose
