Cars reminds me of a Dreamworks picture. They were on autopilot, and I'm okay with that. My rationalization is that Brad Bird had taken all the good people to work on Ratatouille.

Nice.

If someone ever makes a movie about your life, what would it be titled? Can I direct that movie?

The plot of Antz isn't awful, but there's no sense of scale and I'm just not a fan of it.

Plus A Bug's Life has Denis Leary and Richard Kind.

As for the movie about my life, it'd be called

In the Forest There's a Bird of Every Color

I want Godard to direct it.

It does count and you get bonus points.

Redeem them at your local Jimmy (or Emporium C-Store).

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the lamest, how lame are annotated bibliographies?

As a holiday tradition, my brother and I (and our two other film loving buddies--one's in LA now living the dream) pick a film to watch on Christmas Day. We've picked goodies, and really really baddies (Alexander--BLEH!). I'm having a hard time deciding which I want to go see...as there's a lot coming out this holiday season that I'm interested in. Which would you chose (assuming the limited release ones come to RDU)?

Frost/Nixon
The Reader
Revolutionary Road
Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Valkyrie
Wendy & Lucy

whose better, The Great Caruso or the Red Rocker Sammy Hagar? Worthington's Law tells us that the answer is clear.

Answer that one or this one: Dusty Springfield or Petula Clark?

and why

Sammy Hagar is worthless in every way I can think of.

Dusty is better because she sounds like she's black, and black singers are always better than white ones.

I have 2 questions for you vinylbandit.

1) How does it feel to suck so bad at goalie?

2) Are you going to cry when I score 5 goals against you next Monday night?

are current emphatuations with authors such as haruki murakami in popular culture more of a desire to have someone of this generation that has the literary skill to produce timeless works of fiction, or is it just hipster wannabees that listen to npr and get stuck on random author to sound pompous

im kinda curious

b/c i've kinda been trying to find someone that's currently writing with substance, but struggling.

i bring up murakami b/c he's kinda been one of the 'it' guys from what i gather, but i dont see where it's much more than a casual read.

or maybe i hold classics in too high of regard

or maybe im a retard

I'm guessing you meant "infatuations"

and Murakami hasn't struck me as one of the "it" guys in literature lately, if you're seeing it as a super intense thing then it probably is hipster-related

but I like a wide variety of postmodern literature and classics anyhow
