You're in Colorado and your looking for the kind of crap they have in Raleigh? A random hotel restaurant there will have better Mexican food than the best i found in Raleigh. But I'm from New Mexico so my tastes are more suited to that region.

We have a shit-ton of Mexicans. Is it so hard to believe the Mexican food might be good?

^^^ I lived in Raleigh for 6 years, I was always trying to find a good mecian place. They had a few good ones but they never stayed in business. Apparently all that people around there will support are places like chicos.

Where are you in Denver? It's a big city... Guadalajara is good, so is Tres Margaritas - those are the only chains I know of. There are other non-chains but they could be 30 miles from you.

that explains why you like the mexican in raligh, see when i was there i was missing the green chile and mole. In raleigh i felt like they were just forming southern food into mexican food shapes with all that grease and cheese.

sneakuz there are plenty of good places on Larimer between 16th and 23rd. There are also plenty of bums and pawn shops in that section. I can't remember the names of the Mexi places though.

I never said it had a point. But what is the thought process that leads someone to making a thread on a message board populated mostly by college students at NCSU about advice on food in Colorado instead of simply consulting google?

Good for him for getting legit answers, but this still seems to be a dumb way to go about this.

Ronny, i did try google. and city search, and some other sites. those sites did not give me the answers i was looking for, thus my post on tww.

i wanted to see if anybody who is familiar with how mexican tastes in raleigh had discovered a similar restaurant in the denver area, as i have not.

Chedds is ftw. You live on Pearl? There is a really good place across from the aquarium about two miles away. The restaurant in the aquarium is really good and they have Mexi food.

I'd just walk over towards Coors Field and hit up Lawrence/Larimer or just go to Flying Dog or something.

My family has eaten at this place for like 30 years:

La Casa de Manuel
3158 Larimer St
Denver, CO

I last went there this summer, it's kind of ghetto but delicious...I can't remember if they have cheese dip though

That section of Larimer is one of the worst areas of Denver.

Benny's is the best i've found. They have pretty good margaritas too. I've never had their queso, so i'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. I've looked and looked for a place similar to El Rodeo in Denver, but never found it. Everything is, like you said, tex-mex.

Denver sucks. Get out while you still can.

I've had mexican food in downtown Albuquerque. Awesomely tasty and spicy!
But El Rodeo and El Dorado aren't that great here. Fiesta Mexicana over at Swift Creek near Food Lion is really good though.

^^^Colfax Ave is rough in spots.... Unfortunately, some of the bums make there way over to that neighborhood. I am in Bonnie Brae/Belcaro and we see bums sometimes, like when we drive 5 miles away from our neighborhood, haha. You live within a mile of at least three TWW'ers btw.
