Me too, except in my thoracic. I get tingling/crawling sensations off to the side if I don't stretch and do mobility work for the thoracic spine.

Is yours a chronic issue? I initially barely irritated mine over a month ago doing static bar hangs. It's been bothering me a little off and on since then, mostly when I sleep on it funny. But Tuesday morning I stretched when I woke up and apparently kinked something the wrong way. And now I can't hold up my left arm because I have about 50% of my normal muscle control, which is a really weird sensation. My upper arm feels a tiny bit numb/asleep (less so today than yesterday) but not bad.

It's the same spot in my neck that I had a pinched nerve 4 years ago, but I didn't have the arm thing then. I went to urgent care for it Wednesday and they gave me a muscle relaxer, but it didn't do squat, so I went to my normal doctor today. They did x-rays, gave me a stronger relaxer and signed me up for PT. Everyone is talking like it's a chronic issue because I had a pinched nerve in the same spot once in the past.

Yeah chronic I guess, off and on for a year. I never went to the doctor about it though, they're probably going to tell me what they've told you. I am not so sure that PT can help anymore than what you can do from youtube videos or readings online. I think going to PT would just make sure you're doing the movements properly. Save your money and time.

As far as any advice I can give you, and what's help me, is to avoid overhead work that encourages or forces extension. So for me, I gave up kettle swings over head ( Russian swings don't bother me, so you can test that out), kipping pullups, shoulder press ( anything that requires bar overhead).

Interestingly, when I perform dumbbell work overhead, it doesn't bother me so much as long as the weight is moderate. So I really think it has something to do with the barbell forcing extension because I have other weak areas I need to work on. It could be that you have muscle imbalance and certain groups of muscles are compensating for that. So I would do a lot of accessory work to prevent imbalances.

I just learned about this training company called crossover symmetry. It may be useful for you. https://www.crossoversymmetry.com/what_is_crossover.php

It may not even be your cervical spine that's an issue. It's a overall balance below that line. Muscles in that area are all connected to it's hard to say what's causing it.

I've always had a distinct tearing sensation in my shoulder if I do thrusters with a bar, but I can do them with a plate or dumbbells with neutral grip with no pain or problems. I don't think that's related to what happened to my neck, but I also don't really understand it. And I've never done my kettlebell swings to overhead or kipping pullups.

I really think it's just a pinched nerve rather than a spinal issue from having a tight spot back when I did the bar hang that's been irritated ever since, but they did the x-rays to rule out anything skeletal. I'm guessing the nerve caused muscle tension, which may have made my spine a little wonky until it relaxes. I have a referral for the PT, so it should be covered.

I have a hard time connecting the dots with a pinched nerve in the neck from a bar hang. The reason why I say that it could just be a secondary symptom originating somewhere below c-spine, is ...when I had a partial rotator cuff tear, it was weird that my left bicep was also painful and sore. People with back injuries often have secondary symptoms below the lumbar because of that long sciatic nerve traveling down the glute and leg, where they experience pain in that area. There are nerves running everywhere in our body that give rise to secondary symptoms.

In thoracic outlet syndrome, according to wiki...when you have what they call a positional injury, it's the abnormal compression of nerve bundles in the clavicle and shoulder girdle during arm movement.

I'm not saying you have TOS, but a pinched nerve could be cause by your T-spine resulting in your sensations in the arm.

I don't know what my point is with this post anymore. Carry on.

Not saying you're full of shit at all. Just saying it felt exactly the same as a pinched nerve in my neck that I had 4 years ago, aside from the arm thing. Time will tell.

I was really into browsing wedding sites for awhile but they're mostly annoying. And showcase ridiculous stuff and/or stuff I'll never afford. Occasionally I'll check in for an etiquette question. Oh well. New financial situation has changed things anyway so it doesn't really matter anymore.

yeah, threads upon threads of women posting about how they are snooping and pressuring and waiting for their boyfriend of X years to propose.

AHA, I browsed the Waiting forum. It's horrible. There are women who have been waiting for like a decade, and then someone comes in like, "It happened! He finally proposed on our one-year anniversary!" LOL, and they're all so supportive.

^Nice!!

I just mind the few weeks that I drive into work in the dark...but that's kind of a fwp.

Daylight Savings just signals to me that it's almost time to find a joint with a decent patio/deck and a good drink selection.
