If your parents really will get mad at you for something you post on Facebook and you're over 18 years old, they have issues...

my mom will never join facebook because she thinks if she does that the parents of the kids she teaches will hunt her down. she could just have strict privacy settings, but why bother when she'd just use it to talk to me and my sister anyway? we have phones for a reason.

i almost had a stroke the other day when my mom said "I saw your face page"...

then i remembered she doesn't know how to use the internet and the lady she works with isn't a friend of mine so all she saw is my picture, name, and a few of my friends...


i may be an adult but my parents are VERY old fashioned and there are just some things about my life i don't really want them to know about...and i'm pretty sure they don't want to know about...

i really don't think my 70 year old mother could take seeing a picture of me hanging onto the rafters so i don't fall off the bar I'm dancing on while i'm turning up my Coors Light....

a day or two later, i get a phone call from her asking how to do things, then she comes out with great news "i know you and your sisters would not want me as a facebook friend at all, and i don't intend to send a request.. i just want to see what all the news is about."

a couple of friends of mine (brothers) have their mom as a facebook friend, and she is on ALL THE TIME! someone left a picture comment and my friend's mom replied, "Hi (name), this is (friend)'s mom. He was in (location A) not (location B)."

Like, do you REALLY need your mother updating your friends on where you are when you can't reply in time? lol If you look at her wall, it's nothing but comments left on other people's pages and pictures.

My mom recently signed up for facebook, but has only accepted a couple friends because "I dont want everyone knowing my business! I'm not going to be like some of these people and update it everytime I take a shit!" I said, "no mom, that's twitter"

i've got a friend from high school i havent seen in years.

he's in a metal band and uses FB to post upcoming dates about whatever dive bar his band of long-haired 30-something miscreants are playing in, and pics from previous shows of his dopesmoking friends playing at these rural dive bar swordfights.

his mom is on his friends list and keeps sending him shit like Apples and Pears from some FB farm thing, and posting "I love you, Ken! XOXO" on his Wall. he'll reply "thanks mom"

it's kind of amusing to me for some reason.
