New game out for late 2010. Looks to be along the same premises of COD Modern Warfare 2.

http://www.medalofhonor.com/

There is a trailer on the site that premiered at the Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Looks like the EA folks did quite a bit of consulting with Special Operations people on this one. For example, many of the 'good guys' appear bearded, which is one of the things my dad, who is in the special-ops business, does when in the middle east.

Here is the trailer.

before call of duty i would play almost every MOH game there was. I think i had at least 4 or 5 for PS2. Looks like it'll be a fun play through.

It's too late. Infinity Ward hijacked that shit. EA can't reclaim the WW2 or modern shooter now. It's been so long since they've released a MOH game that nobody really remembers them anymore. When they release this, people will just assume they are trying to ride the coattails of MW which is more or less, to me anyways, what they appear to be doing.

That being said, I fucking loved the MOH games for the PS1. Great fun. I haven't played them in years, but I have no reason to believe they would be any less fun.

The last MOH game was Airborne which was actually released for the 360 and PS3. But it was released during the COD4 craze and was all but swept under the rug.

I never played it, but it was more open ended than the previous titles since you were a paratrooper. It allowed you to parachute in anywhere in the campaign you wanted...behind enemy lines, middle of the firefight, alliance DZ etc etc.

^ Airborne was fun. Multiplayer was great, but the single player bugged me because it started off right but then abandoned any sense of realism/historical accuracy for gameplay.

On the last few missions you had a few juggernauts in SS uniform with gas masks, shooting an HMG one handed who required 2 bazooka rounds to the head.

i know seedless asked for this to be bumped, but have there been any new details released?

should be interesting to see how much attention this title gets on the heels of Infinity Ward's fall from grace and Treyarch's hit or miss reputation.

Not anything new, but the fact that DICE is doing the multiplayer is enough right there for me to buy this game day one and the fact that EA has set a great trend with giving away DLC with brand new copies of a game. I really really hope that they use the Frostbite engine and give us more of the same in terms of the BC2 multiplayer. Its hard to play COD and not be able blow a hole in a wall or have a ragged shed protect someone from a rifle grenade blast. Anyway a new trailer is due out in a few days, and they announced that if you played BC2 you get early access to the M24 in MoH.

New trailer up. You need an EA account to see it while its in 'exclusive' mode for the next 18 hours. Doesn't show any gameplay but sets a great tone for the game.

The beta starts June 21 for VIP members who have pre-ordered the game. The game play trailer looks good. Basically if you liked BFBC2 this is more of the same (with perhaps some enhancements and upgrades), which is a good thing.

The trailer is right on the MoH homepage http://www.medalofhonor.com/

Saw the gameplay/interview video from E3, this game looks solid. It seems to be a good balance between MW2 and BFBC2.

I feel like MW2 gameplay is much more fluid than the BF offerings, however the environment and the destruction is excellent in BFBC2.

I am really looking forward to this, and am glad there is the push towards squad based combat, the one thing Call of Duty games lack...

Well, its look good so far to me, except I don't see any destruction. If no destruction then its a no-go for me. BFBC2 has hooked me on the destruction and changing up the strategy and gameplay with it.

It has destruction. The developers said it's not quite as intense as BFBC2 because they wanted a more realistic game.

MOH beta Uber fail. Ohh and if you play the game, be ware the game engine is paranoid of you talking people and if you press y will make really hard for you to return to game without a three finger salute. I am the only survivor of the y key of doom"

I played the game (and made the beta thread) this game is awful and I mean terrible. Do not waste your money on this unless you really like a $60 laugh.

That's the same way I felt about the BFBC2 demo, but it turned out to be really good. I will reserve judgment until I see the full game and features. I am mostly not going to buy it anyway because I can on do one FPS MP at a time and right now its BCBF2.

I also played BC2 beta and it never looked half this bad, MoH is going to be the butt of every joke for the next year unless a miracle happens between now and release.

1) no physics of any kind (no destruction even with tanks)
2) bodies glow like angels
3) no rag dolls on bodies and they fall through level if crouched
4) try to talk to anyone through chat (y) and the game freezes
5) the gore is so far over the top it looks like the bodies are made of paint

these are just the first to come to mind.

Downloaded the PC beta last night, had time for a couple rounds.

Initially it felt like a simplified version of Bad Company 2, both in terms of graphics and interface. I am hoping that it being a beta, and limited to 1024x768, are the main culprits holding the eye-candy back (at this point in game development, I expect good graphics from new games)

Graphics aside, the gameplay is very smooth. Also, there's no running and gunning like in MW2, you jump and can't fire, or fall and can't fire. People aren't zooming around with super speed perks. You need to use cover and be diligent. Also, you die pretty easily, which adds to its realism, theres no getting hit with a shotgun and having time to squeeze off a couple rounds into your enemy, you die.

The environments are better than MW2, more on par with Bad Company 2. There are explosions and gun fire and dust and debris and it really enhances the experience. I haven't had a chance to really try out the squad commands, or use all the weapons, but in the couple games I played it was solid.

I feel like the graphics are watered down for the beta, so I won't let that affect judgment.

Hoping its not a simplified version of BC2, since BC2 is a simplified version of BF2

Its not limited, just hit enter on the resolution selection and scroll down to your resolution. Think I'm running mine at 1680x1050 or whatever.

Regarding the game, I have canceled my pre-order after playing the beta. Its obvious this is just a spin-off of Bad Company 2, which I'm not a fan of anyway. There really isnt anything new offered in this game and I am not overly impressed. More unrealistic weapons, 4+ hit sniper shots, clumsy unconfigurable gameplay, and minimal team cooperation. Pre-ordering Black Ops instead, save your money - this is NOT the game they are going to be talking about 6 months after it is released

I guess I'm in the minority that still gives a damn about single player and the fact that this at least claims to bring a lot more realism to the table than the MW franchise. I like the fact that it based on actual special forces combat operations in Afghanistan and isn't afraid to hide behind a ridiculous plot or made up places, but of course I don't know that much about the gameplay besides what I've watched and read in previews.

The opening scenes in the latest trailer look like they were ripped out of the pivotal firefight in "Lone Survivor," a damn good read if any of you do that kind of thing anymore.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmQ-R71eqUk&fmt=22

Black Ops looks like a Rambo cheesefest and more of the same when it comes to multiplayer, which is fine if that's what you're into, but I got tired of MW2 multiplayer after a while.

I'm not ready to write off the game completely based off a beta, and if this turns out to be a more realistic, new environment spin on MW2, then I'd be fine with that.

US Military has "banned" this game. Will not be sold on post, not to be confused with not allowing service member to buy it/own it.
-This is due to user being able to play as Taliban and shoot/kill US Military.
-Other side of the coin is that someone has to play the bad guy in multiplayer.
-MW1 and 2 got around this by not saying US ARMY or taliban and by saying Spetsnaz, Ranger and OpFor.

My .02, looking down the barrel at a US Service Member makes me uncomfotable, but i know its a game. But it pisses me off that people will get thier rocks off by placing the sights on a US Soldier and squeeze that right trigger button.

I really don't understand all the pseudo-furor when games have been doing this for a long time. Is it really any different having rag-clad, arabic speaking characters (clearly terrorist/insurgent attire) previously called OpFor now called Taliban?

Medal of Honor is just cutting through the bullshit. Random terrorist/insurgent shooting US Army Rangers in MW2 multiplayer? No Problem. Name them Taliban? ZOMG ZOMG OUTRAGE BAN THE GAME RAWR RAWR

Opposing forces shooting US soldiers in multiplayer has been happening for years now, the MoH series is just trying to make a realistic game.
