I actually kinda like his energy off the bench (opposed to starting). Gave us a big lift last night in the first half when we desperately needed it.

I bet the phrase "gets most of his points off of putbacks and rebounds...not a refined offensive player...relies heavily on his athleticism..." will be used a lot come nba draft time.

still has mental lapses and "dumb" turnovers, however he is much more active and much less selfish than he was last year.

The commentators even referenced that last night. I remember them saying late in the game when he dropped the ball down low under the basket that "last year, Leslie would have taken that shot himself"

I think the commentators jinxed him and caused him to get injured. They couldn't stop talking about how great he is, a serious inside/outside threat, one of the best big men in the country, etc, etc.

^Yeah those announcers were in love with Leslie, Gottfried, and State in general...at least much more so than most announcers.

Well their other option was to love Stanford, so....

We need to get CJ more conditioned, give him that gatorade when he's not on the floor. He's cramped up twice now and missed a lot of minutes where we've needed him... and we do need him.

i'm pretty sure he didn't cramp up. i think he took a knee to the thigh. gatorade won't help that.

thats because last year he half assed his way through games. Hard to cramp up when you are lazy.

this year he is balling out the whole game

You can't get rehydrated fast enough from the bench. They need to get him focused on consuming more fluids throughout gameday, and maybe limit his salt, caffeine intake. Potassium and vitamin D are thought to help as well.

I am not going to call out Alejo yet. Gottfried brought him and and he is the one who has finally gotten Howell to lose some weight.

Howell spent all that time hiding from cheeseburgers instead of practicing

^^Best part about that situation was when Howell was asked about losing the weight and he said:
Quote :
"“Well, before I was eating like two bacon, egg and cheese biscuits in the morning, now I’ll wake up and eat cereal.”"

This is ground breaking stuff people!

I still can't figure out wtf scott wood is doing at the end. Was he just bored and ready to go home? Was something in his eye? Or was he just playing it cool? Dude showed no excitment after that shot went in lol

He knew better than to believe that it was true. He knew something was going to call the shot back, or his excitement on the court was going to lead to a post game Technical foul that gave Bonaventure the tie and the ball.

The video i'm watching only shows him for a couple secs after the shot, and there was still time left in the game (wasn't there?), so i don't understand the concern.

2nd double-double in a row with 20 points, 11 rebounds

(and Howell is averaging a double-double with 12.2 pts and 9.9 rbs)

"Generally speaking, the Wolfpack goes as C.J. goes. It is hard to imagine State being a factor in the ACC without Leslie playing well. In tonight’s game he was not perfect, but he was a solid producer. He had 20 points and 11 rebounds, but also 5 turnovers.
Leslie is a very talented athlete who doesn’t always play to his strengths - his quickness and offensive rebounding. I don’t think he is a really good low-post player. Leslie is not physical enough for it. He is much more effective facing the basket and taking the ball to the rim. He can also do that out of the low post - just turn and face. Once he learns to slow down and not get impatient, he will be even more difficult to guard."

So whats up with this dude? I thought he was past all the whiny bullshit. He looked absolutely uninspired and seemed to be mopping around most of the game. After the past couple of games he has played great, and I thought he was definitely gone to the NBA after this year. I think he really fucked himself today, if he plans on going pro after this season.
