maybe you should try being more courteous--i picked up a rock a few minutes ago and there was an unknown variety of snake sleeping underneath, i politely replaced the rock and we both went about our business... 5/5/2010 4:35:16 PM

I was just throwing some scraps into the pile and the fucking wasps flew out and stung me. I wasn't trying to disturb critters. They are the ones that built a nest in MY compost pile
I'll get revenge.. Going to get some spray!
Thanks for the hug punchmonk!

I would argue that in a close quarters situation, a Tasman Salt would be the best mode of wasp defense (for a trained individual, of course). 5/5/2010 5:48:37 PM

Plus the burnt remains will help stuff grow, unlike chemicals.

A) That's a bit overkill

C) I get the sneaky suspicion that the town of Cary would NOT like it if I had a big ass open fire in my back yard 5/9/2010 10:16:17 PM

Rub some vinegar on the stings.
When I was little my grandma had a post-it note in her kitchen about stings:
"Remember your ABCs:
Alcohol for Bee stings Vinegar for Wasp stings"
You could try that? 5/9/2010 10:19:50 PM

^ I don't see how drinking massive quantities of alcohol can help a bee sting, unless you drink yourself numb. 5/9/2010 10:22:54 PM

Actually now that I think about it they were probably yellow jackets. I just rubbed some ice on it to try to stop it from swelling. All I ended up with was a small red spot where the sting was. Thank god I didn't swell up like I did when I was a kid and got stung.
Oh and I had the alcohol later that night
