I'd like to go to this, but I will almost undoubtedly be working that Friday, and the lineup for the rest of the weekend is much less appealing than Friday's.

Friday is the most loaded night w/ MGMT, Big Boi, Devo, Panda Bear, and Girl Talk, but there's a lot stuff that I personally would be really interested to see on Saturday (Massive Attack, Jonsi, Caribou, Four Tet, School of Seven Bells, Dam-Funk, Emeralds). Sunday is, in my opinion, the weakest of the three nights, even though Hot Chip and Dan Deacon will def rule.

i think dan deacon and hot chip make sunday well worth it. i will have just seen panda bear in raleigh and i don't care about mgmt. i WISH girl talk were on sunday and then it would totally make sunday the bomb, but mostly just to add to the dance party, cause they're always a good time. big boi...i could go either way so i won't be sad to miss that if we go sunday over friday. same w/ rjd2.

i just REALLY want to see hot chip and dan deacon so i'm willing to forego artists i've already seen. plus halloween? kinda sounds awesome.

the only thing appealing to me on saturday is massive attack and caribou. POSSIBLY four tet but they don't outweigh my desire for hot chip and dan deacon. so if i go one day, and i'm thinking it will only be one considering all of my funds seem to be going to music recently, i will prob choose sunday. i don't know though. def between friday or sunday but leaning toward sunday.

^ i know. it is hard to decide because i'd totally go to all of them obviously. i've never seen hot chip OR dan deacon. i wanted to see dan deacon in nyc last summer but then we didn't. i can't remember why. but if i stumble across an extra $150 then i'd love to go all 3 days. but i don't even know anyone in asheville to stay with so that is an added expense

are there camping options? lol

you could always live in the mountains for the weekend haha...yeah, and hotels in asheville can be EXPENSIVE because so many people like to go there in the fall...even if you stay away from the bed & breakfasts, the regular hotels are pretty expensive i think, too.

i saw half of dan deacon's set at bonnaroo this year (was watching jay-z the first half of it) and it was wild. he puts on a crazy party.

i think i'm gonna somehow try to find the money to get the 3-day passes (i was hoping my extra student loan $$$ would come in time, but it's not coming until september and they'll probably be sold out by then), but if i was gonna go one night, i guess i'd probably go friday. i'm with you on mgmt and panda bear, but the other stuff on friday is tough to pass up, especially girl talk, i've never seen him before.

i actually almost stayed in a bed & breakfast when i went up there last weekend

the two B&B's in weaverville (ten minutes north) were $120 a night in their cheapest rooms, and the cheapest hotel i could find in asheville was $91

eric and i stayed at the best western right outside downtown 2 years ago. it was like around $100 or $120 a night. because i have AAA and some best western like rewards thing. even though its like the shittiest hotel of all time. but yea i'd totally camp. a B&B wouldn't be THAT BAD if it was between 90-100 - if we were just staying one or 2 nights.

Yeah, there are WAY too many good shows/concerts/festivals this fall...between that and my lp buying addiction, music has been hitting my wallet very hard of late.

luckily, my girlfriend is good friends with an older couple who live in the mountains in asheville and have a really nice house with an extra bedroom, and they invited her to stay with them anytime she/we come to asheville. so i think we could stay there if we decided to go to moogfest.

The entire weekend is pretty sick to me with Friday being the best of the 3. Definitely opting for the $150 deal. I wish the VIP package was a little more feasible but that $$ is just a little too much to come by.

I've stayed at the Days Inn in Asheville for a show at the Orange Peel. Not too bad for what it was. Hardly in the motel room anyway. If there was a camping option I'd be ON IT. Absoltuely love music/camping fests. Instead I think some friends and I are looking into a cabin if we get enough of a group together. Caaaan't wait! Oh the shenanigans we will see, especially since it's Halloween weekend.
