i've been enjoying the show except the fat hipster dude is absolutely terrible, they really need to replace him. he can't adlib, he can't time or execute anything pre-written, and he has a weird stupid look on his face the entire time; i think its his dead, emotionless eyes.

just saw Sunday's episode last night. I've watched all of them so far and I think its pretty good. Not as good as the BBC version but definitely one of my favorite shows. That VelociRaptor is AWESOME!!

the new main guy for top gear UK is annoying as fuck and he looks silly in his tight jeans and giant boots thing

joey was bored as shit in the first segments (which were terrible), but he was good in the ariel nomad segment (even though the theme was silly)

top gear us is improving because they ditched the format of the top gear uk show and the guys have some chemistry

Only watched first episode of new UK Top Gear and was not impressed. As mentioned Chris Evans seems like a prick. Clarkson was an ass but in a completely different kind of laid back way. I like his presentation style whereas Evans is jumping all around and all excited and yelling and shit. The boys never presented like that, thank God.

As for US Top Gear some of the individual episodes aren't great, but I really like the chemistry of the guys and I am so glad they ditched the UK format as the current challenges thing they do is so much better suited to their style.

last nights winter convertible was better than the previous episode

i think they need to do more than just one challenge per episode, the contests all feel so cheesy because they have to stretch everything to fill an episode. every episode is 3-car challenge then winner does something. I wish they just made it 3 segments and shortened the challenges, except for special episodes that have a bigger, less-contrived challenge

It was never as good as Top Gear UK and was awful when it tried to parrot (aka rip-off directly) the style of the original. The first season was fucking terrible, but lets be honest, UK Top Gear was shit its first season too. After that the guys started to gel, the show focused more on challenges and became basically a special in every episode. Some of them seemed a bit forced, but they had a good time doing it and I thought it was fun. My kids actually like it better than UK, but that is mainly because they don't catch all the British comedy.

I hope it finds another home. Maybe Netflix will pick it up since they already stream UK Top Gear? Would be rather ironic if they ended up over on Amazon with the boys.

they ditched the format at the beginning because the guys didn't have chemistry and were pretty stiff, but now they were doing great and the chemistry was awesome they just had a dumb format

i hope that it gets picked up somewhere else or maybe as a youtube series or something (and they go to a format that is not the same 3-car challenge with dumb things every episode)

Maybe Top Gear UK could fire Evans and LeBlanc and hire these guys

i actually enjoyed the segments yesterday on Top Gear UK with Chris Harris and Rory Reid, it felt like Top Gear (more so for Harris than Reid). Chris Evans absolutely needs to be fired, the dude is terrible.

Yea, Evans isn't setting the bar very high. LeBlanc might be just tired of dealing with Evans and letting it show by his performance or lack thereof, or maybe he is just not as consistent as we would hope. Either way, he is way better than Evans, but his performance is shit anyways.
