^^^ Why are you talking about a Dinan LSD when your selected car doesn't have the sport package?

^^ I get 18-20 normally...but that's all city driving and I don't drive very conservatively

For that car, and the mileage, what they're asking is too high - you should be looking at 24ish... 26 at the highest.

fwiw Dinan stuff is all warrantied at 4 years/50k.... and I'm pretty sure most of the dealers do the installation so the stuff doesn't void any existing warranty.

Looks like we're going to have to start up a subforum soon with all these folks buying 335s, hah

picked up a 2011 335d today....2011, 7k miles, premium and comfort packages, navigation and iDrive, 4 year/50K warranty, and one year of XM for $36K out the door. Averaged 35mpg on the way home. Pretty damn stoked right now.

signed on the 2007 335i coupe on Saturday.

Drove it from Fayetteville to Charlotte for a friends housewarming then back to Raleigh. LOVE this car. I feel like the deal was pretty good all in all. It did end up having premium package, sports package, and a bunch of other options. grey with the red leather interior, which I love. drives like a dream and I couldn't be happier.

single owner, I actually checked out that it was a 57 year old lady. impeccable service record. really looks brand new, not a scratch on it, even on the front bumper. nothing.

going from the STi it's totally different. I've never had a car with so many features. I'll try to post pictures soon

The technology on these cars is amazing...stuff that I would have never even thought of. For example, the side mirrors adjust down when backing up so I can see whats directly behind and to the side of the car. This is the first car I actually had to read the manual to figure out how to work stuff.

And the torque...oh my...I havent even dared to floor it yet.

By the way if anyone is considering the diesel dont bother to get the sports package unless you just want the suspension. Paddle shifters will be useless as it shifts too fast...around 2500 RPM.

Also, anyone installed a remote start in their 335?

Mirror dip in reverse indeed was indeed a thoughtful convenience feature, and has been on cars I've owned, for a couple of decades now.

thing to note that mirror in reverse will only work if mirror adjustor switch is positioned to adjust driver's mirror. otherwise it will not work.

Speaking of the manual, mine is an i-drive manual and i don't have i-drive. So navigating the settings has been pretty annoying. Do they even have a non i-drive manual?

I know this interior isn't for everyone but I love it.

taken with iphone camera but still. LOVE this car.

got the Escort Solo S3 before I drove down to the beach. Ordered a German front plate and mounting bracket and I'll probably take it to get the windows tinted 35% this week.

great rims. the white and tan is classy. white is such a hard color to find, or at least for the coupes it was. that grey is probably the most common

Yeah I like the white and tan combo but I really wanted black with black interior. I went ahead and got the white because of the generally higher demand and resale value of vehicles with white paint.

How do you check the tire pressure in psig using the iDrive? when I see vehicle info it shows all 4 tires in green and says everything is ok, but I want to know what the actual pressure is without measuring it at the tires.

^^^yeah the white is super nice. I originally was only going to buy black/white/red but when I saw this color combination I couldn't resist. I've always loved the alpine white, it's so classy. imola red (or whatever it is for the 335) is also very nice and rare. I feel like all the coupes I see are grey

Got some of that blackout tape from a link posted earlier in the thread. Honestly wish I had searched for it online, becuase the roll I got was only 2.5" wide. Found some other places online that had 3", 4", and 5" wide rolls that would be much better suited.

Needless to say, i went ahead and taped my chrome trim around the windows. For the most part it looks ok - just ok - but that back curve is a bitch and deffo needs wider tape. Do yourself a favor if you're ordering it - get the 5" wide roll to start with.

Just finished up my first tank of gas on the 335d and averaged 32.8 mpg with about a 50/50 split between highway and city driving (and I definitely pushed the car for the first few days ). Overall better than I expected and the price of diesel is the same as premium right now.

After two weeks of owning the car Im absolutely loving it...the power, comfort, and handling are fantastic. The quality is top notch and im still finding new features. Probably tint the windows pretty soon but I dont think Im going to do much else.

In my wife's Lexus, the mirrors are heated the same time as the rear window when you select the defroster button. I believe the BMW operates in the same fashion, but I could be wrong.

So I finally decided to take my 335i to the Shade Tree Garage to have the brakes done. Leith quoted $850 for rotors and pads on the front. Shade Tree quoted ~$900 for rotors and pads on the whole car. I was thinking it just needed front brakes, but the rear pads need replacement, and probably the rotors too.

I thought about doing it myself but it would have been $680 for the parts, so I'm cool paying $200 for someone else to do the work...getting lazy in my old age

Shade Tree seems cool so far. Looks like the place works on BMW's exclusively, and has been for a long time. Talked with the owner Truett for a while. Nice guy, seems really knowledgeable. The offer free loaners (older BMWs) which is a plus, especially since they're located a few miles north of 540.

^Parts are more like $350...if you shop around.

turner sells OEM package for $530 which includes fluid.

^ Interesting...just looked that up.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2827-e9x-335i-complete-frontrear-brake-package.aspx

Never saw these guys mentioned in the forums so I never considered them. I wonder how good the rotors are...or at least where they're made. My $680 number included Akebono low dust ceramic pads...so at least that might be considered an upgrade over the package. But all in all that package is looks pretty slick.

You mean for chinese rotors and pads right? Duralast, Autozone brand etc? I'm wondering how you can arrive at $350 without really cheaping out on the parts...

Turner is $530 for OEM replacements...everything, fluid included...which you don't have to replace necessarily.

$350 you can find just by not buying OEM pads (which are expensive)

if this is your first time doing brakes i would just resurface rotors. $150-200 you can do everything.

Shade Tree is good if you can get in touch with them. Few years ago, I tried to call them about my 540 and never get anybody to pick up the phone. I finally gave up and drove the car there myself.

does anyone know where to find a pdf of the owners manual, particularly the button explanations. I still don't know what a lot of this stuff does

only ones I found just go over specs and packages, no button explanations.

like what does DTC mean? is there a sports mode to turn on if you have a manual? etc.

also, these seatbelt extender things fall out on the passenger side a lot.

^ you know I actually tried to google that one...couldn't arrive to all the differences without too much work.

Sure it has 320hp over the 335i's 300, but past that I could find much. I found plenty on the 2011 335is, not much on the 2007

the only note worthy upgrades are better cooling and strong engine mounts. power is just boost increase, which you can get through software. turbos are same as any other N54.
