Anything that facillitates the downfall of UNC football is ok with me. I'm a twitter fan.

agreed 100%.

when i was younger, the mystique of Charlotte Hornets NBA players led me go trick or treating in their neighborhoods, in hopes to meet one of these hardwood gods.

if Twitter existed on Halloween of 1996, I would've found out that Glen Rice and Anthony Mason were out at Gattison's drinking hard liquor and betting on horse racing with Scott Burrell.

Quote :
"During Ryan Harrow's sophomore year of high school he committed to NC State. Many programs at the time did not believe in the kid who is a wiz with the basketball at the time because he had a small frame. The only coach who believed in Harrow's ability to play high major basketball early on was former NC State head coach Sidney Lowe. That explains why Ryan committed early to NC State and refused to open up his recruitment has he went from nobody to somebody on the national rankings. Those who know Harrow personally would understand his loyalty, he is just a kid with good character.

After a season of posting up 9.3ppg and 3.3asg with the Wolfpack, Harrow has decided to leave NC State. "I will be focusing on getting stronger and studying the game of basketball during my year off", said Harrow. "This time around I will have a chance to go through the recruiting process."

I could tell that this was a tough decision for Harrow because he loves the NC State's fans and appreciated all the support from high school to college."

I just don't know what he thinks he's going to get out of this. He badly wants to go to the NBA (even alluded to being out of here in two years) but he's going to sit a year? And then what? Blow the doors off at Providence?

I still love the kid, but I just think that this was a horrible move on his part.

He had guaranteed playing time as a starting PG on an ACC team. Hope he finds whatever else it is he's looking for.

Ouch. Next year's chance at making the tourney just took a HUMONGOUS hit.

Fuck. It takes a lot to get me really disappointed in NC State basketball...but this here is one of those things.

Sounds like he was so committed to Lowe as a friend and mentor that he didn't take the chance to check out what was best for his basketball growth.

Good luck wherever he ends up. We need a back-up pg ASAP.

Well then tell me what I said is wrong. He's going to have to sit a year and transfer to some place of a lower caliber, no?

Maybe he's hoping Sids get hired somewhere in 2012

lol

--

^ Point is, no one knows why he made his decision, what Gottfried told him, nothing. Speculating on his reasons for transferring is foolish and petty.

Fair enough, point made!

I see you're learning to give reasons for your snide remarks. Now try working on doing that without being prompted when responding to someone.

I'm pretty sure Zo is starting at point now. He has a lot of experience and can hopefully rally the team. Although I can still remember when CP3 left Wake, Justin Gray had to move over to pg. Justin was a great sg, but a terrible pg. The team was a mess.

I don't have to dumb down my posts for anyone else. I'm not going to make an exception for you.

Anyway, people say he's looking at Kentucky. I don't believe that because no one could be that dumb.

^4 he doesn't want to play here...get over it, these things happen when your program doesn't do shit for years and hires a new coach

Sucks. Good luck to Ryan.

Please try and keep the personal insults out of this thread still. He made the decision he felt was best for him as a player/person, so respect that.

No one calls you out, that's why. Seriously, it's not dumbing things down to say "hey you're a fucking moron because..."

Otherwise you just come off as a message board asshole who contributes nothing but snark to the conversation.

we were better last year (not by much) when Lo Brown was our pg anyways...harrow has more potential at PG than Lo but Lo was much more mature as a freshman (probably due to his year in prep school)

I mean...I still think Lo Brown was our best point guard last year...but he was also a good SG and Harrow had the potential to be a great PG. This severely depletes our lineup.

So seriously, what now?

Is Lorenzo going to have to run the point for 40 mins a game?

Will a freshman Jaqawn Raymond be able to contribute at all at the point?

does Gottfried have something else in mind?

Jaqawn can play backup PG right? I feel like he'd be an upgrade from Julius Mays just for the fact that he can dunk.

If he gets real minutes at ANY position we are in for a long year, let alone at the one at this level.

Not comparing the two, the situation where your only real point guard leaves and you have to slide a 2 over to the 1 position is the same.

that's what I'm worried about. what other option is there? the only other one is brown running the point for 40 minutes.... or wood??? (or hopefully the staff has a juco player or someone in mind)
