Can anyone comment about these departments? I have been admitted to NCSU (for MS in OR) and am considering accepting the offer. I have tried google and found some useful information such as the annual report published by the OR department and the class sizes seem to range between 10-30 people. I'm curious about job placement after graduation and how rigorous the program is (I'm looking for a challenge). Are the professors generally helpful or are they overloaded with research and too many students? Any comments are appreciated. I opted to post here instead of a blanket email to a bunch of people I don't know.

I'm an MAE student, so I can't answer department level questions, but I've taken OR 501 - Intro to Ops Res., taught by Denton and an ISE course in Principles of Lean Production. The lean course was enjoyable, but relatively easy, including the first book report I've done since the 80's. The course with Denton was significantly more challenging, and I enjoyed the course and thought Denton was a excellent teacher, helpful, easy to contact, and generous with his time.

I also participated in an ergo study in the department, and the students I interacted with seemed to be interested and enjoying themselves.
