I will agree she MORE THAN LIKELY did it but there is no concrete evidence. I like my beyond reasonable doubt, but if you guys want to live in a fascist police state then by all means lets rebuild our justice system.

Fact: it's possible to commit a murder in such a way that no one could ever prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you did it.

With that said, the mother of this child that was murdered has only provided an alibi that was confirmed to be pure fabrication. She's been habitually lying to the police and her family. Plenty of evidence was found in texts, Google searches, materials around the house, and in her car. No, there isn't video evidence of her actually murdering the child.

OH HEY GUYS! circumstantial evidence is fine. i mean sure people would prefer direct evidence, but a lot of times circumstantial evidence is whatcha got, know what i'm sayin? you aren't always going to have some direct hardcore shit (i mean if i kill someone i'm not tryin' to have Bob over here watch me do it so that he can tell everyone). a lot (all? no probably not, but a lot) of criminal convictions are based on circumstantial (aka indirect) evidence (aka inferences). the idea/rumor/whatever it is that always pops up in these threads that you can't convict on circumstantial evidence is not true. circumstantial evidence usually plays a part in criminal cases because you have to make those inferences because you lack direct evidence. and then the jury decides the credibility of the inferences orrrr the witnesses you are using to make the inferences, etc

so yea

if i were going to be discussing this case i'd probably focus on the burden of proof. what it is. who has it.

so let's just go out on a limb and say that in this instance the burden falls on the prosecution. it is their job to make these inferences from the circumstantial evidence (aka indirect evidence) plausible to the jury.

so if they did not make the inferences plausible (according to the standard, which varies, but i hear in criminal cases it has something to do with reasonable doubt) then maybe they did a shitty job. but it isn't some miscarriage of justice. it is exactly how it is supposed to work

but i kinda like trends and being popular so i'm just gonna go with: OMG MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM HAS FAILED AGAIN!!!!111SAUSAGE!1one as my final opinion on the matter.
