I am really not all that impressed with Acura, surely it's possible to make an awd NSX that weighs less than 3800 lbs...

Ashamedly, a high roof Sprinter. I'd love to find one like this http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/121227-AT-IT-AGAIN-Paul-and-Mike-Convert-a-Mid-Tall-T1N-Sprinter-Cargo/page26 that someone else has put a lot of time and effort into. Would be nice for hunting, fishing, surfing, hiking etc.

In all seriousness I've been checking some nearby Toyota dealers for a 2016 Tacoma 4wd with a manual.

Think my coworker got the last Xterra pro-4x 6 speed manual in the area. They're not making a 2016. Sucks.

Sucks, but Nissan has neglected that truck for a while. Basically unchanged for a decade.

Ditto the Tacoma. "Restyled" and new engine offered for 2016 but mostly unchanged otherwise.

The best thing Nissan has done for their trucks is hire cummins.

I want that 5.0 diesel in the jeep

this cadillac ATS-V looks like an interesting replacement daily driver. not sure if it's an upgrade over the e90 m3, but certainly over the current m3/m4.

after making my wife read the performance car of the year article i'm pretty sure she's convinced a gt350 mustang should be our next car.

Now, waiting 2 years for due diligence to find out if it's a keep for ever kind of car.

It probably will be. With the current regulatory climate high performance NA engines are going to become increasingly rare. Ditto row your own transmissions.

(such bullshit too, given the fraction of the auto market these types of cars make up)

I just want to make sure this thing isn't going to be spinning it's self apart on track days at 8500 rpm.

Also... i wonder how hard the "R" model's Carbon Fiber Wheels will be to find for the standard version.

I've heard that a lot of people have raised the redline on their Coyote engines to 8000 rpm without ill effect. Not that I'd advise it, lol. So I would imagine the Voodoo engine has the goods.

Hey, just one more car that I have no desire to own, which is a good thing I suppose

I always had a stinking suspicion it would be too expensive to justify whatever power boost it got. Plus the styling...yikes.

If it's really going to work to his benefit to have blanket warranty coverage for a year on a 9 year old car then the only thing I have to say is: Wow, I didn't realize Aston Martin still built shit vehicles.

Hot looking truck. Trucks have such a very specific purpose though and aren't very practical for the vast majority of activities. I stopped seeing so many after I left the south east.

Yeah the interior is pretty cool looking. Aren't the LED lights not street legal? I assume those would be for trail only.

I understand their utility for particular activities as I've driven them for various jobs but as an overall vehicle for outdoor activities something like a large SUV is more practical (i.e. activities that don't require the transport of stuff that makes a truck useful).

For example I typically drive 4-5 people and 2 dogs plus a bunch of gear (skis, camping equipment etc) and it's much easier to put the 4-5 people in an SUV/wagon with the 2 dogs in the back, gear on top, and maybe some bikes on the hitch in the back. Whenever my buddy drives his Avalanche with a covered bed anywhere we can't take that many people and dogs as we're not putting dogs in a covered bed so they have to go in the extended cab with limits the number of people that can come.

I realize you can get a truck bed topper with windows that effectively turns it into an internal storage space you can put dogs in and stuff but then you might as well get a decent SUV. You could also get an external frame for more rooftop storage but at the end of the day a decent SUV is going to be a lot better for outdoor activities compared to a truck. I almost never see trucks out in the mountains on jeep trails that are commonly used for back country hiking, skiing, camping, etc. You really only ever see trucks these days pulling a camper. Just my observations in Colorado at least. The one exception is people who snowmobile or have ATVs where they need the bed.

Outdoor recreation better? I guess you could make the argument that hauling dirt is an outdoor activity if you want.

Oh I thought you were making fun of me using the term "outdoor activities" as a catch all for the use of a vehicle so I clarified with recreation so everyone knows I wasn't talking about hauling dirt or bricks.

Yeah I made another generalization although in this case it's not some wild one. If you took a bunch of people and gave them the option of a truck or SUV then the SUV might have a little more utility for your average family of 4 with a dog and a bunch of outdoor stuff. I guess that's the only point I was trying to make.
