Do any of you run your own company?

Is it full time, or on the side?

I've been toying with the idea of starting something on the side to see what happens.

This also might be a good place to get a general overview of how an idea could pan out. Post your survey's here and we can help you do a little market research to get started.

Don't take out any loans to start a business. Depending on what you are looking to do, I can offer further trinkets of joy.

4 on the side, in addition to my full time job ...

all are passive income websites, so it takes maybe 1-2 hours per week max.

Good luck finding qualified people. I'd hire them too, if any were out there. Lots of VARs and Integrators are running into the same issue apparently - lots of bodies, very little talent.

This is exactly the kind of thing I have been looking for. All of my ideas are pretty large, and would require a big upfront cost to build a website, and then take a lot of work to market and upkeep the site.

I'm curious, what type of passive income type opportunities are out there? When I think of passive income, I think of something like ebay, paypal, or kickstarter. Basically sites that the users are driving themselves, and you just constantly ding people with commissions and cuts that go into your account. I also feel like that's probably too large scale for what is being mentioned here.

Of course the dream is to quit working, but if I could have a steady steam of extra income I would be ecstatic.

just go with the oldest one in the book: create a site that attracts traffic + adsense

and/or write mobile apps

i don't know why but this thread made me think about drug dealing and prostitution...

i guess its when people use overly fancy words i think they're trying to hide something...

I mean most hotels with palace in their name are dumps.

I'm a co-founder in a startup.

I've also had a side "business" for something like 13 years now.

I run the entire gamut.
