There is no way they're going to break a story, nearly guaranteed to be Johnson to VT/Lutz staying.

"1. Texas coach Rick Barnes and NC State coach Mark Gottfried confirmed Jimmy V Classic matchups for Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Madison Square Garden. Texas will play Georgetown and NC State will play Connecticut. Texas has a terrific schedule again with an appearance in the Maui Invitational, hosting North Carolina (meaning the Tar Heels and Longhorns will be in opposite brackets in Maui), play UCLA in Houston and traveling to Michigan State. NC State is the headline team in Puerto Rico in November, hosts Stanford and possibly will get Michigan in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on the road. The ACC is going to 18-league games next season, too, which improves the Wolfpack schedule with two games against Duke and Florida State as well as North Carolina. "

So, we get all three of those teams twice next year? Going to be quite the test. It sounds like our schedule is shaping up to be very tough once again, which I like. If we come out as good as advertised next year...shiver

If we live up to the hype, this schedule is just fantastic.

Depending on how they set up the schedule when Pitt and Cuse join, we may never get to play Wake, UNC, and Duke twice each in the same year again. That's a shame.

Playing UCONN won't be that great for us... they lose so many people. Expect them to be bad.

Although it's always nice to beat the crap out of Jim Calhoun.

that's awesome. it will be nice to have some national exposure early in the year in these tournaments.

the only thing that sucks is that since we're playing some big name schools in those tournaments and the big10 challenge is on the road, we might not have many good OOC games at home. that's not really important, i'm just selfish and wanna see us play a couple of high quality opponents at home (like indiana and syracuse this season).

^^ He's making a mistake imo. He may not have played a lot this year, but I think he would've been a key-contributor his junior and senior seasons. Can't see him transferring anywhere else with as high of a profile and being able to get those kind of minutes in a year. Hopefully it was his decision to make and not his father trying to run his life because he thinks he knows what's best.

i was really looking forward to seeing harris progress. he had talent and skills, he was just needed to adjust to the college game. that really sucks. we really need amile jefferson now (as if we didn't before).

need Vandy and TDT to step up big now...our front court is super thin. CJL, Howell, Warren, Vandy, and TDT. And TDT didn't show much at all last year, Vandy is a work in progress. harris transferring really hurts.

The only good possibility coming out of this would be Jefferson committing.

I really liked Harris and his potential.

I know it seems like I'm kicking a kid on his way out, but I just never saw anything promising with Harris. He had a decent shot and was supposedly a decent defender, but he seemed surprisingly unathletic and lacked confidence when the ball was in his hands. He could develop into a good player, but I just don't see it.

2) Purvis
3) Wood/Warren
4) CJL/De Thaey
5) Howell/Vandenburg

Still possible 9 man rotation, but TDT and Vandy have to man up....

Spot on. He has obvious talent. Definitely a program player which is hugely important over 4 years. Shit, most think Vandy has improved to the point he could give us serviceable minutes next year and he could barely walk his freshman year.

TBDV should be a decent option off the bench as long as he plays defense and can get garbage putbacks. Don't trust TDT as the only other option. The playing time is there for Jefferson now. Think Harris is making a mistake, don't see him getting much, if any, more pt at another high major program than he wouldve gotten here unless he wants to play somewhere like BC.

I was more upset about the Painter transfer than this one. I'd rather see Warren/Jefferson (if we get home) on the floor than Harris. He could have made a dramatic leap and been productive for us this year, but he's a tweener and we have solid depth at the positions that he goes back and forth between anyways (the 3 and the 4).

We lost Painter, so we need a big guy to fill in. That's TDT and Vandy. Harris wouldn't have helped us with that. The only drawback is if he could have stepped up his Junior and Senior years and been productive. Hopefully we can recruit a guy that will.

Jimmies officially rustled.

I'll say this - when I went to the opening game of the season last year, Harris is a guy who I picked out of the crowd and wanted to know more about. I think he could do good things here at State if he'd give it the chance.

If he leaves - all I can say is:

not good news, but we're on so many radars for the next two years and it's great to have a ton of available scholarships and playing time while the program is hot.

We don't project to be a good team two years from now (as of right now, based on current commits), so we need to land as many guys from the dogpound as we possibly can before our recruiting momentum dissipates like a tiny amount of heat in a large room that can barely warm your large toe, let alone a room with Cathedral ceilings.

^^^ Yeah...I get what he's saying because pretty much our whole team next year could be gone by then (Wood/Brown/Howell/Leslie/Purvis?/Warren?)...but with recruiting, lots of the great teams are built around freshmen and sophomores. But we definitely won't have a lot of experience Juniors and Seniors.

But we could possibly have a really good team built around sophs Purvis/Lewis/Warren/Jefferson?. What's key is how we fill out this class (AT LEAST Jefferson please) and next year's class (need a guard or two and two to three big men).

this is four obvious statements and an incorrect/contradictory one. harris is just as big as leslie, and we don't distinguish between the 4 an 5... so to say that harris is a 3 or 4, and then say that he's not a big for us is silly.

he might have been a good player as a junior but the kid looked like a deer in headlights pretty much every time he hit the court.

he never saw a shot he didnt like and had no concepts of avoiding the charge or passing to an open man.

he has talent but its never going to show if he doesnt stay somewhere and develop.

once he transfers this will be his 5th school since the 9th grade for the kid.

No its not and no he isn't. They might be the same height and Harris might be a few pounds lighter than Leslie, but CJL is stronger and can jump out of the gym. That's why he is allowed to guard centers and big PFs. CJL was put on Zeller and Henson last year...Harris could never have guarded either one of those guys (and couldn't have done if we gave him another year).

Harris is a skinny weakling with average athleticism. He can guard a big PF, but would get abused. He should only guard a center if every one of our big men are on the bench with foul trouble.

He's a tweener. He's not quick/fast/athletic enough, nor was he a good enough shooter last year to get significant minutes as the three. He wasn't big enough to get significant minutes at the four. I will give him a little credit in that he seemed to be a pretty good rebounder.

Painter was a 4/5. He guarded mainly centers and sometimes PF's if he was in the game with Howell. That's what we NEED to replace him. Harris can't do that...but TDT and Vandy can.

Harris would have given us depth at the 3/4...but it's not where the depth is sorely needed. It's needed at the center position. You can't say all this "we don't distinguish between positions" crap on offense...but you still need to play defense. We need big bodies...Harris wasn't one of them.
