Any in-ear headphones block noise better than (non-cancelling) over-the-ear phones by literally plugging your ear canal

I have the last year's Jaybird Blueblud X's - http://www.jaybirdsport.com/bluebuds-x-bluetooth-headphones/

They work pretty well for blocking out noise. I have small ear canals so its a challenge to find BT earbuds that are comfortable. However, I don't think they sound all that great so I am looking for replacements. I tried out the Plantronic Backbeat Fit and while they worked really well, they were really uncomfortable for me.

Any suggestions?

"Also, I have never seen noise-cancelling in-ear phones. In-ear phones usually do a pretty good job of passive noise reduction, anyway, and again, their benefit is the small size and light weight. If you want the best sound and noise reduction, you go with active, over-the-ear sets...but that's not what this thread is really about. Again, I don't see the point in spending big bucks on bluetooth and/or in-ear stuff."

Bose has an entire line of noise canceling in-ear phones. My buddy has one and loves them.

I can't hear shit with my in-ear phones. I can however hear the airplane rumble that Bose does cancel out. I imagine I could probably hear a lawn mower as well. Ear plugs (i.e. noise isolation) do a much better job canceling out higher frequencies noises then lower frequency (airplane engine).

^I've gone through 3 pairs of those (free lifetime sweat replacement) and my third pair just died. They sound alright but they don't stay in after you're been sweating a bunch and the sweat eventually kills them after a few months. I run with my custom Shures now and they're awesome.
