Reigns came out. Booed as you'd expect.

"I'm not a bad guy. I'm not a good guy. I'm THE GUY."

Reigns challenged anyone in the back to come out. Out came Chris Jericho in street clothes. Jericho trying to ultra heel on the crowd. Then came out A.J. Styles, then Kevin Owens, then Sami Zayn.

Those 4 took out each other after Reigns was smarmy to Zayn, then Reigns speared Jericho. Post-commercial, Shane told Reigns backstage that the winner of a Fatal Fourway in the main event between those 4 will be Reigns' #1 contender.

Baron Corbin entrance. Then made a promo about the trophy he won. His opponent is Dolph Ziggler. Back-and-forth match. Corbin kicked out of a zigzag. Ziggler kicked out of Corbin's finisher. Corbin threw Ziggler into the crowd and the finish was a double countout draw.

Quote :
"Allan Price ?@AllanGWPrice

Sami Zayn just sprinted to the back clutching his shoulder again..shit. #RawAfterMania #RAW

Zack Ryder comes out. Shows the pics of him as a kid with Razor Ramon holding his belt, and then Scott Hall holding Ryder's belt last night.

Gets interrupted by Miz. Miz trying to instigate a title match out of Ryder. He succeeds. Hey, Zack got to be IC champ for 25 hours.

Long match with a mostly quiet crowd. They were outside and Miz found Ryder's dad. They started jawing back and forth until Ryder's dad shoved Miz down, allowing Ryder to get the advantage. Then MARYSE~! came over to talk to Ryder's dad and slapped him on the face, Ryder is distracted in ring, Miz hits the skull crashing finale and wins the IC title. Maryse and Miz celebrate afterward in the ring.

Kevin Owens backstage interview. He's the best promo in this company of the guys that haven't been there at least 10 years.

Vaudevillains will debut on Smackdown this week.

"Official new title presentation for Charlotte." She was being a bitch that led to all the other girls in the ring to leave, and Natalya and her jawed back and forth, so there's her feud.

A.J. Styles backstage interview.

Dudleys vs. Usos in a tables match. Switch of the match from the night before. Dudleys were laying down on the tables but they moved when the Usos jumped to win.

Zayn backstage doing an interview, got mauled and taken out by Kevin Owens.

They aired some vignette for a repackaging of the Colons.

The Dudleys were walking back after commercial break and Enzo & Cass came out. Enzo insulted the Dudleys and the Dudleys teased coming to the ring to fight but walked out. Enzo was awesome on the mic and the crowd loved them.

Zack Ryder invoked his rematch clause for the IC title vs. Miz on Smackdown.

Dr. Phil to be a special guest on Raw next week.

Shane McMahon replaced Sami Zayn in the 4-way with the returning from injury Cesaro.

Long match. A.J. Styles pinned Jericho with the Styles Clash and is Reigns' #1 contender.

I'm ok with Reigns being the IDGAF asshole monster heel champion that everyone hates. As long as he sticks with it. Don't try and crossover and be the bad ass face - that's why people hate you.

AJ vs. RR can be interesting. Just don't interject Jericho in it...tired of that dude.

Good to see Cesaro back in the main event scene. Ready for Rollins' return as well.

Love to see what their plan for KO is too...that guy has talent.

Put the damn IC & US straps on someone we care about as well. Miz is awful. Ryder is not worthy. No one cares about Kalisto and damn Ryback. Need to run a strong program with both those belts this year, like they'd planned for DB and did with Cena.

Zayn's not really hurt, he's just good at selling and it builds his angle with Owens. Granted, with everyone dropping like flies, it's easy to look at every little thing and suspect something.

That said, with the talent they have (when healthy), they should be able to do some sort of 90 day rolling 'off-season' that never overlaps the time between the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. Maybe it would help with the injury bug.

oh man the vaude villains...brilliant

seems like with roman reigns...you could invent some rating system on how long wrestlers can pull off certain angles...I think with him he can pull off the strong silent bad ass type for maybe a month or two and then it gets kind of lame...he's prob best as a kind of enforcer for hire type, I haven't really critiqued his matches as of late

NXT house show in Charlotte last night was really excellent. Easily the best WWE house show I've been to as far as top-to-bottom entertainment.

- Nakamura is working these, which was awesome.
- Manny Andrade (La Sombra) is the damn truth.
- Finn Balor's Flair impression is comprehensive and impeccable. He did a bunch of Flair spots, and then Tye Dillinger did some back. Great stuff.
- We also saw No Way Jose in action. His offense includes a combination of salsa dancing and baseball, which sounds (and is) ridiculous, but was a lot of fun.

Also appearing: Asuka, Samson, Gable & Jordan, Dash & Dawson, Corbin, Dillinger, Eva Marie, Carmella, Alex Riley (sigh), Blake

So am watching yesterday's Lucha Underground episode. There's a back storyline of the police are investigating Dario Cueto (the promoter) for being an underground fighting promoter with two of the wrestlers being undercover cops. The police captain has in her office mugshots. The first is of Bael, a jobber guy that was killed backstage in storyline in season 1. Next to that is this shot of the "Missing", which I love because it has all the name wrestlers from season 1 that are not wrestling in season 2.

And WWE giving Reigns the Cena treatment, highlighting his Make-A-Wish moment during RAW last night...all the while the fans are booing the shit out of him.

I swear to God if they pull a swerve with Bullet Club & align Anderson/Gallows with him Sunday, turning on AJ, I'm going to pull my damn hair out.

They won't have the balls to do it, but would love to see Balor debut and aid Styles to victory.

I'm afraid Balor sides w/ Anderson/Gallows @ Payback costing AJ the title - setting up a Balor (Balor Club) feud w/ AJ.

I'd prefer to see the 4 as a unit but smell a swerve.

If they finally decide to go heel with Roman, I'm down with whatever it takes to get legit heat. Giving Roman the BC will certainly do that.

Surprises me that Barrett's contract runs out in a month and they release him anyway.

There's a couple other contracts running out soon as well they didn't release: Mark Henry (retirement) and Ryback (upset with how much he's getting paid). And I figured Adam Rose and the Ascension would've also been let go.

Sandow does really awesome character work, but he's merely a solid wrestler.

Cesaro is incredible in the ring and a freak of nature strength-wise. As long as they let him work he'll always have something for the fans.

Takeaway of Raw:

Quote :
"Vince McMahon took one look at a 7-footer the day after WrestleMania. Six weeks later, even without one singles match, he main evented Raw. That's the position that Big Cass found himself in against Chris Jericho, though the match itself didn't happen and Cass was only a bit player in the final segment."

Cena will be host of the Espys this summer.

His first match back will be on the May 30th Raw a 6-way match with Reigns and Ambrose against Styles, Anderson, and Gallows.

Fun too-close-to-real-life exchange on Twitter:

Quote :
"Stephanie McMahon: It's arguable that "the slap" is my character's finishing maneuver. Who do you think was hit the worst? #StephBook

Dave Bautista: Plus it helps to get guys over! :| And it builds a great angle for when you get your receipt it looks good I tried! "

Pretty good show last night.

Fatal 4 Way was PLATINUM.

Styles is an absolute star. Rollins is back. Summerslam could/should be a 3-way between those two & RR for the gold.

IC match was awesome, as was main event. Roman's not as good as Cena, but he's certainly in the same ballpark of being a good performer who can hit another gear if he's working with someone great.

Why can't Sheamus ask for (and be granted) his release instead?

I like Cody...although, I can't see that he was ever main event material. Company has to get behind who they know will make them the most money.

The problem with Cody is the same as it was with Sandow; they could make almost anything work. Sandow got over a series of ridiculous gimmicks through sheer charisma, and Cody made a succession of aimless vanilla characters into a constant source of entertainment for those willing to pay attention.

Just like Dolph's excellence in selling has helped lead him to be asked to sell more than anything else, Cody Rhodes was routinely sent out to save death segments from dying so terribly, at the expense of giving him a chance to do well with a good idea.

I hope he goes to Japan and wrecks shop.

WON:

Quote :
"In what could be even bigger news, WWE superstar and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is close to finalizing a deal to fight at UFC 200 in July. No opponent is known at this time according to Helwani, though there have been rumors that the opponent could end up being Mark Hunt. Lesnar came close to returning to the UFC in early 2015, but ultimately decided to sign a new contract with the WWE. He hasn't fought since losing to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in December 2011. He came close to returning in 2012 for a fight against Fedor Emelianenko, but the deal was unable to be put together by the UFC. According to sources, Lesnar had an option put in his WWE contract that he could take a UFC bout prior to this year's Wrestlemania. UFC 200 takes place on July 9 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, headlined by Daniel Cormier taking on Jon Jones."

MITB Thoughts:

Anything less than Styles goin over Cena will be shit.
Get the titles off New Day (I hate them) - put 'em on Enzo & Cass or (better yet) Bullet Club.
MITB needs to be Owens (the obv choice) or Cesaro (it's time). Nobody else is worthy. It won't surprise me if it's Ambrose tho.
Fully expect Reigns to retain. They're gonna keep pushin his ass to the sun.

Balor Club time this Sunday. Have him debut and lead to the 4 BC members beating the shit out of Cena.

The build for Reigns-Rollins has sucked. Leaves no doubt who's winning at MITB.

I hope Balor shows up, but on NXT this week they set up a match between Balor and Nakamura that will presumably be the night before SummerSlam. That doesn't mean he can't work both, like Zayn did before Wrestlemania, but we'll just have to see.

In other news, the Cruiserweight Classic roster is BONKERS and I have tickets.
